Boomslang 2000, yes or no?

I'm thinking of getting a boomslang 2000 for gaming (quake 2, quake 3) Was wondering what you guys think of this mouse.

Awesome mouse once you get used to the feel of it. It's great for railing in Q2/Q3A. You should really try it out before you buy it somehow. Some people love this mouse; others hate it and stick to Logitech/Microsoft mice.

I have a friend at work who absolutely loves his. I tried it one night at a LAN party and hated it. Well, "hate" is a little strong, but I liked my MS Explorer much more.

Like Insomnium said, see if you can try it first.

I got one and couldn't get used to the grip at first since I have small hands.
Then I changed it up so that my middle finger always sits on the scroller.

I've found this style of playing to be very effective for fps gaming. But it sucks when you're in Windows. As a result, I use my cheapo Logitech First Mouse for everything other than first person games.

Like the others said, see if you can try it before you buy it. Or do what I did, take a plunge, and get used to it

Very accurate mouse, the optical mice are only 1500dpi, as opposed to the Boomslang's 2000. But I really don't like the shape of the Razor mice so I avoid them.

I absolutely love mine.. i couldn't possibly go back to any normal mice. The mouse I had before my 2000 was the ms explorer optical. It was cool and all, but in my opinion the Razer beats it on every front

I have a Razor Boomslang mouse with a Ratzpad for the mousepad. Initially I really like the precision of the mouse and the size of the mouse (big hands). However, the mouse has seemed to deteriorate over time and no longer scrolls very smoothly (yes, I clean the mouse regularly). I'm an avid player of fps games and many of my friends have experienced similar deterioration of their boomslangs. They seem to "break" after a while. I usually go to the store and buy a new one and return the old one. However this gets pretty annoying afterwhile. It is a good mouse, much better than an old PS/2 mouse. I'll probably try an optical mouse and see how that works.

I have the BS 2K with a RPad also and i can't explain how accurate this thing is. But you do have to give it at least 6 weeks on a consistant basis. The BS is aimed at gamers so if you don't game hardcore then your really waisting your time. Ppl who game daily(i mean like 4 to 5 hours a day) of FPS then that is where the benefit is. I also recommend the Logitech Mouseman Wheel non optical. Stick it in a P/S2 port and overclock it to 200hz and you can get some accuracy with that too. But don't just stop there, pick yourself up a Fuk1030 pad or whatever the name is or a ratpad with some practice and your game will step up(not overnight)soon.

I've had my bmslang2k for a little over a year now...best mouse I've ever owned, and there's no way I can use another for gaming...I highly recommend it.
