I originally posted this in Hardware, but it should be in Tech Support. Yesterday, I received a replacement mobo from MSI for my 655-Max; the one I received now has HT. The reason I sent it in for an RMA was because the DIMM 1 slot would not read any memory.
When I hooked up my replacement mobo, it booted up, then went to "CMOS battery low". I picked the option to restore standard settings and Windows loaded. For some odd reason, my VGA drivers weren't loading up any more and the "found new hardware" message came up. I restarted my computer, but nothing comes up at all now. I tried clearing the CMOS, but that hasn't worked. The computer no longer beeps when I power up. All fans and the hard drive are spinning. I have an Antec 400W power supply.
I tried removing the mobo from the case and starting it on cardboard; reseating all memory and and the video card; I bought a new battery for the mobo. None of these things have helped at all. I would try a clean install, but the computer won't boot, so that's not an option at the moment. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as MSI tech support is a joke.
