yeah i use the Ultimate BootCD.

it works great, has a lot of tools for different file systems and stuff.

very kewl. what i really want is a ez way to make my own bootable cds. anyone know a ez way to do it? i mean, for a floppy, there's just a few files i need, and boom it becomes bootable. i found some info on it, but it got really complicated and after the burn, it started to boot up, but failed @ the last moment.

Check out http://www.cdshell.org/ to build a custom bootable cd

bootable floppy, yeah easy way is right click on it and go to format then choose msdos bootable cd. This option is in Windows Xp

Very nice, hadn't see it before and have shared the link with friends already... still have to actually make the image, but I'm sure it'll come in very handy. Until MS Shuts it down.

I doubt MS will shut it down - he's already been quite careful to avoid infringement on Windoze PE...

It's a great tool - saved my butt many a time......

How awesome is this? Never saw this before.

Any recommendations between the various builds? I'm still shocked at the huge amount of plugins. All of this IS free right? And if so, am I seeing certain plugins that are retail? i.e., in the plugins linked section:

K-Meleon-Mozilla Browser, PartitionMagic 8, WinPE Multiboot-CD, WinPE on Harddisk, Defrag with Vopt by Gerhard Broeske.

The retail plugins only provide a folder, appropriate reg keys, and shortcuts. You will still need to provide the appropriate files from the software.

if you just want to make a non-bootable disk into a bootable disk, you can do that with WinISO.
