Hi all,
iam having this weird problem for 4 days now, my PC sometimes doesnt post, shows nothing on the monitor and with no beeps and sometimes everything runs fine.

i have taken out my rams and cleaned the contacts of ram and motherboard and reinstalled them, done same for graphics card.

system specs are
Intel DG41RQ
Intel C2Q 9400 (no OC)
4gb DDR2 kingston
Gigabyte 6950 1gb
FSP 800w 80plus PSU

what could be the possible issue here.

That is almost assuredly a mobo issue.

Sorry to be the bearer of that bad news, but that's my experience on issues such as that which you are describing.

Test with a different PSU before assuming it's the motherboard. I'd suggest pulling the case cover and checking whether the power LED on the board is lit (with the FSP) when it it doesn't post. If the LED isn't lit, or blinking sporadically, it's most likely the PSU since you state that the board does boot.

Try installing ONE known good RAM module. Try different RAM slots if there is still a problem.

Still problem? Try another video card if possible.

Still problem? If possible try another PSU and see what happens. If system boots and everythings fine, then the original (FSP) PSU is faulty.

Still problem? Then the motherboard is most likely faulty.

Another thing to try the next time it won't boot: open the case, disconnect the case switch and reset switch wires from the motherboard and manually short the case switch pin header with a screwdriver to see if you might have a defective case or reset switch.
