Thanks; I did scarlett a few times but just don't remember the name 'gee'. Never played Gunzerker Maybe that should be my third character; but was thinking Mecho if the dlc is cheap next month.

Never killed the warrior Can he be killed solo ?

After you clear Scarlet. There's a side mission to kill Hyperius, another raid boss. After you turn in that one then the side mission opens up to kill Master Gee.

The Warrior is the final boss for the main story.

wait. you have 2 level 50some characters? How can you possibly get to 50 without having completed through TVHM? He is the final boss of the main game.

Only 2 things I can think would be he rushed through without paying attn or piggy backed with others for the xp.

In BL1, after at least clearing it a few times, I would take a low level online and join a high level game. I'd at least ask to hang in the background for xp, and most of the time they wouldn't care.

Yeah, either didn't know the name or had someone power level him/gibbed is levels. It is virtually impossible to get to 50 without having killed the warrior at least once--and would be difficult without having done it twice.

I haven't played the DLC on TVHM, but I'm not sure if there is enough content to get you to 50 through DLC + main campaign before getting to Warrior.

Actually, I take that back. I think I had my Sal at ~51 when I got to the Warrior on TVHM--not having played any DLC.

I confused the warrior with some other critter you get at the end of one of the DLC. Hum which DLC; it is this critter that has like 5 or 6 robots around him and can kill you in a single range hit. Hum. Can't think of the name. I guess I killed the warrior a few times - that is the critter that sucks the life out of the Siren - er the evil dude used the red stuff to obtain enough power for the key ? I only have the DLCs that came with the season pass - there is one UVM mode I think.... Sorry been a month or so since I last played but I plan to play through another character - thinking of the Mecho if it is cheap during chrismas though I'm tempted to try the new DLC for xcom - the new maps sound interesting.
---
Never played on line so definitely no piggy backing. I think I ended up in mid 40's after finnising up the season pass DLC (before the UVM mode) and then I picked up a few more levels (4? 5?) messing with the level 50 bar-room fight. I had enough to mostly win the fights but not in the alotted time so I kept leveling trying to knock them off

I started UVH at level 52 but it was sooo easy it became a little boring

The DLC with the Season Pass are "the DLC"--meaning, the campaign based DLC. There are 4 of them: Scarlet, Torgue's Campaign of Carnage, Hammerlock's Crappy Adventure of Crappiness, and Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep.

UVHM is just another difficulty level for main campaign + DLC packs, and includes level cap to 61. If you have characters at 52, then you have UVHM. I do believe this is also Season Pass, but you've said that you have it.

There is a newer, second "UVHM+" which raises the level cap to 72, and gives you access to Digistruct Peak. It's an end-game, very difficult arena type map that, upon multiple completions, will allow you to access "OP levels" You would never level beyond 72, but at each OP level (up to OP 8), the enemies in the game will level up, but will also drop appropriate OP level gear. Once you start unlocking these, you can set any playthrough up to whatever OP level you have unlocked. So if you are up to OP 5, you can start a game at OP 0 (72) and up to OP 5, all while using gear up to OP 5....it's simpler than it sounds.

That "Warrior" you are referring to sounds like Hyperius--the first Raid boss in Scarlet DLC. He has 4 minions that will charge his shield.

The only DLC that it sounds like you don't have, with new maps, would be the Digistruct + level cap upgrade. It offers one map, but the potential to gain 11 more levels, so it's worth it. Also, digistruct is fun if you like very hard content. It is meant for teams, but it can definitely be solo'd with most classes.

Fair warning, though--most UVHM content, and especially OP levels, are somewhat broken to the point where there are only a few weapon combos and builds out there that do not make it utterly frustrating and beyond tedious. Regular UVHM is fine as long as you be sure to slag everything first (this already annoys a lot of people), but the health pool and regen for OP enemies is just way too high for many weapons in the game to ever be effective.

Also, the various classes and their health/survival-based trees are completely irrelevant at OP levels. You will be one-shot (well, two shot; you can't be one-shot, technically, but if you are hit with an elemental bullet or two bullets from any number of enemies) by everything, regardless of skill points wasted in survival trees. Moxxi guns are almost required for this content.

If you haven't tried it, maxing out Krieg the psycho's Hellborn tree is fun.

I'm at level 42 in TVHM and with enough points you get good healing from all elemental DOTs plus you can set almost anything on fire.

Once you're on fire the fun begins with your fireball retaliation, damage reduction and your gun firing at double speed.

It's probably not a powergaming build, but it's almost as much fun as riding a meat bicycle.

Siren can do it real easy--but you need specific gear to exploit Immolate--you need a Hoplite Shield, a Bee shield, and Unyielding Banshee mod (gives +6 to immolate) a Fire Sandhawk, slag bouncing betty grenades, and probably a very high damage fire launcher in case he gets out his first burst before you kill him.

You can youtube "Siren Deal with the Devil" or maybe go to the thread on the Gearbox forums.

basically, equip hoplite to drop your health to zero--you are still alive--but this triggers Immolate, which boosts damage to eveyrthing, including your Bee shield. You equip Bee, run up to him, toss a few slag grenades, phase him (you will want ruin) and as soon as the slag on Ruin triggers, burst his face with your sandhawk. He should go down in one magazine if everything is working.

but that's glitch/exploity.

Sal can do it solo, just being Sal. You will need a Rubi or Grognozzle, though. to health gate your way to survival. You also need a singularity grenade to group his minions so you take them down quicker.

Zer0 can bore him pretty easily, but you also need singularity grenades to group the minions and line them up properly to trigger the Bore exploit.

I don't know Krieg very well, but apparently bloodsplosion works well against Raid bosses? Not sure how that works, exactly, or if it's only limited to certain bosses.

I had no idea you can beat the game on any level. level 34 /flex

that's about where you are when you finish it on Normal mode if you do most of the sidequests--the DLC starts at 30, so if you intend to do those in normal mode, you should basically be finishing the game around 30-31. ...you should be close to OP at 34 in Normal mode.

Just to chime in since I haven't said much here I'm currently playing with a Level 24 Commando and a Level 20 Assassin. I been doing the side quests as I go along. Its my first run through so trying to experience the whole game at once from start. No DLC yet. Just the regular game I got it on sale from Steam for $9 and some change recently.

I am also playing some co-op with a buddy and some of his friends when we can find the time. That character is also a Commando. My buddy runs me through and shows me all the things I miss. All the little goodies and stuff like that. There is a lot in this game. I knew from the first BL game there would be but until I started playing with my friend I didn't really realize how much. The game is a huge time sink but an addictingly fun one. One of the things that really blows my mind is the voice acting. They should win awards for their work. Its just funny some of the things they say in this game. I'm always laughing at the things the characters say. I'm just loving this game.

I figure this holiday if Steam offers a big bundle of DLC packs I'll buy them. I'm on the lookout for them.

That's a good plan. The mechromancer and psycho characters are also fun to play so you might get those DLCs too.

I hang on to blue / purple / orange weapons that I've out-leveled to pass on to new characters as I play them.

I love the voice acting too, give claptrap a high five at Sanctuary then follow him around....The game has as much comedy as it does action....the last scene of Sir Hammerlocks Big Game Hunt almost had me in tears.

you know you can get the season pass for $20 bucks and it contains all the DLC excpet 1 if I remember coreectly.....it's well worth it.

Or you can hang out on slickdeals or somewhere similar, daily, and find BL2 + the season pass for $13. That was a few months ago though.

GOTY edition should be out soon (if not out already) which should include ALL DLC, except for Digistruct Peak Challenge (lvl increase from 61 to 72).

GOTY has been out for a months now--jsut ahead of the loot hunt that recently ended.

And yes, it only lacks the Digistruct/level 72 pack. It's Season Pass + the 2 bonus characters.

The thanksgiving themed headhunter DLC should be out this week, I think.

Ok, so if I want the most dlc packs should I get the Season Pass or the GOTY? I don't need the regular game again so maybe the Season Pass?

GOTy would probably be a waste for you, unless you can gift it to a friend. With Season Pass, you will have to buy the character packs separately. ...and you should be able to get season pass for 10 dollars or less in the upcoming sale--that's what I paid back in ~June. Character packs may go on sale as well (they have been before), and might even drop below 5 bucks each.

You would have to buy digistruct separately, for the level 72 cap with either pack. Base price is only 5 dollars, so maybe that will go sale as well.

It's your (and anybody else that is interested) lucky day:

PC Digital Download: Borderlands 2 $6, Borderlands 2 Season Pass $8, Borderlands 2: Game of the Year Edition $28

Season pass - $8

Edit: All individual DLC on sale today too.

Is it just me, or is it way cheaper to get BL2 season pass + the Psycho and Mech packs individually? These are 2.50 each right now--which is 75% off.

It looks like you save about 10 dollars vs getting GOTY (which would be the same content)

$19 for BL2 + SP + 2x character packs (= GOTY)
$28 for GOTY

:hmm:

Does GOTY include more than I realize? the Creature slaughter dome, maybe?

OK--GOTY includes some specific skin unlocks that you don't get otherwise. pfft.

Damn, I didnt see that. I hope its still going when I get home later tnight. Thanks for the heads up.

Edit: I personally don't care about skin packs. That stuff just doesn't interest me. Skin packs are just 'looks' right? No buffs or any different equipment or stuff like that? I still have a lot to learn about this game.

yeah, that's it. does nothing for you but look mildly unique during Co-op. You hardly ever see yourself in single player, anyway.

I made an oops. My characters are not 52 after regular play ; they are only 47

Anyways rather than playt he boring 'hard' (TVM?) which is just tooo easy; I think I'll try Gaige in regular mode since it was only like $2.00. I'm not sure I understand why the hard mode is so easy
