It looks like the sale on it is over and you just missed it -I posted the $5 price here and in the Amazon sale thread days ago and it was still on sale for that price yesterday afternoon. (#1961 6/30 - http://forums.anandtech.com/showpost.php?p=35205660&postcount=1961 )

For anyone else, if Steam ever starts their summer sale maybe you'll get another chance.

I am hoping for a something like half price on the season pass. I can't seem to quit playing, but would like some new quests instead of just playing the same stuff over and over with different classes.

thanks for the new keys. BTW--did that license key for BL1 work?

I tried the read only file trick last night when using keys to get unlimited uses. It worked fine. And funny enough, on one of the occasions (I ran several tests of when to click on and off read only between loading the game) this somehow granted me 10 more keys. I went from 42 to 52 keys doing that....I think I used 10 of them.

I am now full up on purple level 15 gear and no more space. erididium is a bitch--I find farming sanctuary to be mind numbing, and that special NPC never shows up for me any more.

about what level should I be by the first playthrough? 30-32? Should I be skipping bonus quests at some point, like in BL1, to avoid the OP problem? I feel that in some cases, I am overleveled to the mobs (Actually I am level 17 doing level 15 story missions), but when going against constructors I am getting completely waxed. That rescue Roland mission cost me about 8k in respawns, until I learned I could run up behind that thing and cheese it unti lit was dead...My lightning and corrosive weapons don't seem to hurt them

I was 37 and my bro was 35 so somewhere around there....we've got a few side missions left in TVHM and are now doing the DLC @ lvl 54...The Carnage DLC scaled pretty well into the low 50's but Hammerlocks has been pretty easy with enemies staying around 49 or 50.

I would suspect that the Tiny Tina DLC should scale higher since it was just released so we're saving it for last.

I was more frustrated in TVHM, because I hit level 50 quite a while before the final mission. Got really boring slogging thru enemies and not even getting xp for it.

I just found an exploit to overload your backpack at will (like mission rewards do):

- Sell an item out of an equipped slot.
- Leave the vending machine (may not be required - haven't tested).
- Go back in the machine and re-buy the item. The price is listed as jacked way up, but at least in my TVHM game several chapters in, I only get charged what I was paid for buy back.

My backpack is 55/12 now

But can you pick up any items when your backpack is listed this way? Guess I dont really understand completely what you are saying.

I've finished PT1 with the Siren, Mechromancer and Commando and was 30-32 for each of them. I did some side quests but not all of them.

I'm now going through the Tiny Tina DLC as PT 1 at level 32 -- this DLC is intended to be done after you finish with Jack.

I died a bunch of times against the "Warden" constructor holding Roland the first time too. What I did the next times was have a good shock or corrosive grenade, shock weapon for the shield, corrosive, explosive weapons for damage and a rocket launcher. I think the key is to go in and DPS like crazy instead of conserving ammo -- throw all your grenades, fire your rockets, etc. full blast.

It is a little better now that they released the last patch.....They upped the max lvl to 61 so while you level up a lot slower, at least your seeing some achievement.

I remember that was the biggest bummer for me in Fallout 3....I loved that game but once I capped, I really lost interest in exploring//

You can't pick up anything off the ground into your backpack, but what you can do is pad your backpack with cheap throwaways so if something good drops you can swap it out of an equipped slot. Enough stuff spawns in lockers etc. that you should be able to get any of the good stuff that drops.

Yeah, one thing I keep forgetting in this one is the grenades. I found them mostly useless in BL1, but now I have a longbow, sticky, explosive mirv upgrade that deals 8 x 900 on a short fuse. I find this to be quite nice at my level, though I'm still going through tough fights and only think about it after I finish my way through. For instance--the stupid constructer and mobs attacking the beacon while it is being loaded to fast travel to the floating Santuary. Finally killed that one and the badasses after about 5 deaths, before remembering that I had grenades that could have taken out a few of those mobs in one toss

Later on you see transfusion grenades which are very helpful -- toss one and get healed.

I have one character in UVHM, and have a transfusion grenade that also deals slag damage. A great combination, but I have been using it for several levels now and its damage is getting too low.

Transfusion grenades were even good in the first game because the small projectiles post-explosion home in on enemies.

Grenades are probably the only good change in Borderlands 2 as they beefed up the variations of them. Although, I still find myself mostly using transfusion grenades.

Well it wasn't a free upgrade like the first game, you do have to pay for it. I resisted for a while, but finally broke down and paid for it.

BL2 + Season Pass DLC pack is $13.50 now at Greenman Gaming.

http://slickdeals.net/f/6136060-Green-Man-Gaming-Encore-All-Games-back-on-sale

You get two keys (one for BL2, one for the season pass), so if you already have BL2, you can buy the whole pack, and possibly sell the BL2 key to someone else. That's what I did (I still have the BL2 key as of now).

The code for the extra 10% off, to get the $13.50 price is: GMG10-VTTCS-VYH18

Wow, that's an awesome deal considering the season pass alone is $30 right now on steam. I barely even play BL2 and never got close to finishing in the first place, but I almost feel like biting.

Just so you know, you are provided with 2 Steam keys, so you can do like I did, and sell the BL2 key code and keep the DLC pack for yourself.

I haven't seen anyone comment on the Tiny Tina expansion. I have it but I haven't played Borderlands 2 since it came out.

Is it worth pulling my Mechromancer out of retirement to give it a whirl?

I enjoyed it. It is certainly worth playing and had quite a different feel to it compared to the main game.
