And it looks like I probably will need to do these in UVHM, as I'm getting very little XP from missions. dang it all...

Keep in mind you can do Terramorphous in Normal difficulty and it'll have significantly fewer hitpoints.

No, this switches the load to the cpu. Using the settings just given, my i5 2320 can handle it most of the time, but does seem to slow the game occasionally.

To be honest, the physX is cool sometimes, but I dont think it really adds a lot to the game. I probably will turn it off eventually.

Physx kills my 7970Ghz when it can run the game at a very high fps with max details. Turned it back off and it ran fine. This was back in March so maybe things are different now?

ya...do the DLC in UVHM....We started the DLC at about level 52 in TVHM and soon we were just breezing throught it and only getting lvl 50 weapons...it got boring.

Now were playing the Story/DLC again in UVHM....started at lvl 59..it's like a whole new world, getting lvl 59 greenies that = our lvl 50 purples..We just capped at 61 and its still a good challenge and fun....I'm looking forward to the next cap increase.

alrighty, though I pretty much solo through things.

I've been framing Slagga from the Hodunks since ~lvl 37 and not one drop yet. I've convinced myself that I must have it for UVHM--which is why I am reluctant to start it...also probably not that big of a deal.

I've got a 50 Bad Touch, a few nice TMPs (one of which single-handedly murdered the Warrior on this TVHM playthrough), a Volcano, A sweet Killer Cat mod...I feel I'm mostly ready. just need the slag!

You have to slag everything, and even a critical hit with a powerful sniper rifle sometimes does almost no damage , whereas even normal enemies can almost one hit kill you. I have several characters at level 50 and started zero in uvhm, but got frustrated and went back and started a couple of new classes in normal mode.

Anybody have an opinion as to what class is best for uvhm, solo mode? Is it easier in multi player?

You have to slag everything, and even a critical hit with a powerful sniper rifle sometimes does almost no damage , whereas even normal enemies can almost one hit kill you. I would recommend the Mechromancer.Her damage output becomes insane later.

Maybe you are right, and it does put a load on the gpu as well. After enabling cpu physix on my i5 and 7770, the game does seem to get laggy in spots, even though the cpu load never reaches 100%. The gpu is maxed all the time anyway so it is hard to tell.

If you have DLC 4 try finding a legendary magic missile, they are awsome for slag without having to switch weapons constantly. I use them to solo some of the raid bosses on UVHM with my salvador.

From what I've seen, most people that force PhysX while using an AMD card still have a NVIDIA card to handle the PhysX. It doesn't take a hefty card to handle PhysX alone, but it requires a little tinkering to make the two things "play nice."

The Gunzerker makes UVHM pretty easy, as does a Mania-focused Krieg. I got them both to lvl 61, solo. With the right skill layout, even by level ~43 you can gunzerk just about 100% of the time with Sal. All you need is to have a slag Rubi in your offhand, then something powerful in your mainhand (Double Penetrating Unkempt Herald (DPUH) is an excellent choice), and you'll do nutso damage AND have awesome healing (because all damage you do while the Rubi is out (from your mainhand weapon, melee, or even grenades) returns 12% of damage dealt as health), and things will be slagged as well.

Krieg kicks ass too, especially if you can get a nice Love Thumper shield and a Rapier. He actually does more melee damage with a maxed Love Thumper + Rapier than while in Buzz Axe Rampage/Release the Beast. If you have a Hide of Terramorphous (which I don't yet), that damage discrepancy is even further tilted away from Buzz Axe Rampage.

You can solo UVHM, but I don't know if i'd want too...Get any weapon with a good chance to slag and from there they take quite a bit of damage, especially from Fire and Explosive (Insert Torgue weapons here...Ie Unkempt Harolds)

I've only played siren so I can say that her phaselock and slag abilities come in real handy ....

The master skills from Siren's Cataclysm and Harmony tree will give you instant slag. If you're worried about skill recharge and survivability the most, then I'd say go for the Harmony tree and probably Motion tree--I've barely put anything into Harmony, but it seems like a more sensible way to go in UVHM--I would think that slagging with the mele orbs from Harmony is more dependable than what you get with Ruin?

I do use the trait from Motion that pulls mobs toward your phaselock, so that helps to slag a decent number, but you really have to work to reduce that cooldown time.

Cataclysm is such a frustrating tree: 2 really great skills: Chain Reaction and Reaper, Ruin is great, too (but from what I've read is only really used as a slag delivery system for UVHM) You feel like you have to do it because of Reaper, and Reaper is so deep in the tree. But I like Motion so much, as well, and would like to unlock more of Harmony (only 1 point into 2nd tier by level 51--hell, I only just unlocked Ruin at 51 )

Oh, NVM--Scorn has an 18 second CD before you can toss another slag orb. That's a lot worse than Phaselocking. You could always put all your points into both trees, but then you miss out on all the goodness of Motion.

But I recently got a nice Hyperion slag plasma caster in a chest while doing one of the missions for that creepy dude in Oasis. So, that's nice.

at least in this first map so far--phaselock then Lascauex burst fire is the win button.

I don't remember it taking too long. The dude that drops it is right next to a load location, so at least you can kill him, check and reload very quickly. I recall the Bee Shield being a bigger pain as you have a 3-4 minute run just to get to the guy that has it.

well, you still have to drive to him--it only takes about 15 seconds from the fat woman's garage, but still...

I would just assume that in a game like this--not being an MMO--drop rates would be a bit less ridiculous for things like this. I've killed that inbreeder about 23 times and not one drop--hell, he rarely drops any kind of item.

There are grenades that slag areas pretty well too. Bouncing betties do well, and the bouncing bonnie (legendary bouncing betty) is really good too.

If you have DLC4, if you can find a purple x4 Magic Missile, those rock as well (the blue, x2 Magic Missile aren't bad either).

well, that makes more sense. I just tend to take the fast travel to Ellie and never even think about Lynchwood, lol.

at the very least, I've been killing the whole family and looting those chests, as I'll at least get about $15k out of the failure (not that great, sure, considering that respawn is now ~160k for me....but it adds up!)

Well I just finsihed the last dlc (tina dragon). While I liked it the best; the loot at the end was er rather anti-climatic. I tried killing invicible what his name solo (priate dlc) but couldn't handle the limited amo. Oh well I think I'm done for a while.
