Borderlands 2 release date and preorder

pre-load is only 4.5gb..

Hopefully there is another round, or I'm going to end up with like 7gb to download on release day..which will take me forever:'(

Assuming you pre-ordered and pre-loaded the game on Steam, will you be able to play the game at 12:01AM Tuesday or does Steam 'release' the game later on in the day?

Plus, why would you want to pre-load? Sure, you save a few minutes (like what, 10-15?) by not having to install from the DVD. But when you get home with your box, just pop the DVD in and use it to install the game.

I ordered it online which means I don't get it until the afternoon. Also, I have a loot chest, so it's more about wanting that too.

Imagine if you could get the code at midnight and pick up the box for the collector's items! I think that would be best for people who want to get the extended physical versions. Maybe one day...

I bought the first Borderlands on Steam a few months ago. Didn't like it that much. I wonder if the second one will be much better...

I know this is a stupid question and that I have to decide for myself, but still it would be great hearing what others have to say....

5 hours according to Steam. I think it was Game of the year edition.

I don't know, it was okay, but not that great. It may also be I didn't play it more, because I have so many other games to try out.

I also used Borderlands Config editor to get a better FOV and enable Vsync. Without this the game was terrible.

The only issues I had with the first one was the awful menu system and some of the expansions.

The interface was horrible and wasn't even console designed, because I also had it on console, and it was awful there as well.

Some of the expansions inexplicably had securom in them, despite the base game not. If you didn't know better and got the GoTY version, you were saddled with securom because of the Moxxy one and the Zombie one.

They'll get what the guy who has it on "low" is getting (cpu accelerated)

Correct. PhysX is Nvidia only since they bought the makers of the PhysX add in cards.

Actually glad I have Nvidia. I can also benefit in games like Batman. I know it's stupid with exclusive Nvidia PhysX games, and that AMD's cards could easily do the same, but that's just the way it is.

Correct. Personally I think the physx effects look really good, but are mostly eye candy. Plus I suspect that they are going use a lot of gpu power. That 660's fps was dipping down into the 30's for a bit there. (However I don't what all the settings that they were using either, so have to wait for a proper review).

Well, I have GTX 670 SLI and use the second card for handling PhysX, while at the same time in SLI.

I'm not gonna be on the bandwagon that will be playing BL2 in a couple of days, but I'm honestly really excited for you guys. The game looks solid fun. I've still got to finish 1.5 expansions in BL1.

Has anyone else noticed some odd things with Amazon and Borderlands 2? I'm pretty certain that I used to have release-date delivery with two-day shipping (Amazon Prime) like normal. It's always been free and it's free on all of my other items like Mists of Pandaria and the Avengers Blu-Ray. The only way that I can get Borderlands 2 to give me an estimated delivery date of 9/18 is by selecting one-day delivery. :\

What's up with that?

Apparently, changing my payment method on Friday to a gift card balance caused me to lose release date delivery for free. Seems rather silly, but Amazon waived the fee after I asked a rep about it.

I assume you didn't play the first one.
Pretty positive anyone who played BL will love BL2.
If you didn't like BL i don't see why you'd like BL2, as even the shortcomings in the first one could be overlooked if you liked the game.

Also, there are already reviews out.

I'm in the same situation except on xbox 360 ...

Sure my friends have all seen that the same games on PC look much better than on xbox, but they also have shitty laptops with intel graphics that wouldn't improve much over the xbox and they aren't willing to buy anything new -_-'
