While doing the DLC on VH and TVH I've been getting 1-3XP everyonce in awhile while killing. Inbetween runs of them I'd just go kill the warrior on UVH. Altough last night I found a fairly easy way for XP, got 3 levels in less then 1.5 hours solo with Sal. At this point I'm not even sure what skills I want to spend the last 2 points on.
I'm still in the air about UVH, I've still got some side missions on the main undone and haven't done any of the DLC on it yet.
I hear you about getting close to taking a break. I haven't even started Zero, have Maya & Ax at 50 but I'm starting to lose interest in going forward with them. Looking at finishing up Sal and maybe trying Ax as I would like to see how well having two missile firing slag turrents would work out, but not sure if I'll make it that far.
Is there a list of "glitches" both good and bad that effect Sal's dual weapons? I noticed last night that even with dual pistols my main hand was firing & reloading faster then the offhand one.
The way Gunzerker works, and I think this is a glitch, is that the bonus effects of your offhand weapon will clone to your mainhand weapon...something like that.
So, if you hold a Ladyfist in your offhand, your main hand gun will be getting 800% crits. I don't think there is a trick to get this to work--I think it just works that way. And so it's not just for a gun like RUbi healing you for all damage--that works with all guns--maybe it isn't effects like Ladyfist's crit, because that is in the text. It might be the inherent, unmentioned effects (like the healing from Moxxi weapons, which is the same as the unlisted 500% crit you get with a Fibber--which if that is the case, this still makes the Fibber a better gun for Sal than Ladyfist)
Also, I'm pretty sure that the Grognozzle in your offhand will apply the drunken effect on your mainhand...so a DPUH firing 4 spreads at once? ouch...
Basically, Sal is completely broken. Fun as hell to play though, but very broken. Gearbox doesn't seem to care--they nerf the hell out of all the other characters, but since Pitchford prefers Sal, he just sits there and lets Inconceivable + Money Shot + Gunzerk glitchery continue on...in their constant attempts to "balance" the game.
I got Maya to OP 8 and still farm and play around with her, I still prefer her style over Sal. I got Zer0 to ~37 (my second character, and I even ignored Maya for a time in TVHM and almost caught up to her with Zer0), but I basically stopped playing him a long time ago.
At some point, you can only run through the campaign so many damn times before you get sick of it. I said that of BL1, but somehow I managed to do it about 3x more runs with this one than I did BL1.
