Magic missiles are a staple for UVHM. I either didn't have any drop or missed them my first time through TTAoDK but after that I ended up with plenty of blue 2X's to spare. They're good enough but I wanted a purple 4X and had to get to Murderlin's badass round to finally get one of those.

I happened to get two Unkempt Harolds (one was even DP) last night from that chest run I posted earlier. I was intentionally avoiding getting one from a Torgue machine because I heard how overpowered they are. And they totally are.

Yes I'm doing Tint Tina's now in UVHM to try and get the magic missiles but it's tough without the right gear. Any idea where I would get a unkempt harold (I'm at level 57)? I need something for the onslaught I have to face, it's just so slow slagging everything and then shooting everyone like 50+times just to down a normal enemy. I have to run away from the bosses and whittle them down.

You can also get them from the vending machines in the Torgue DLC but they require you to collect Torgue coins not standard $$$...

There is a decent chance to get a Bee Shield from the Treeants once you get to the Forrest in Tiny Tina's...There are 10 of them in the run so be on the look out..

Enjoy tiny tina's DLC....it was my favorite with the Torgue a close second.

Outside the Torgue vending machines it's really just luck. A Casual Swordsplosion, Tediore Plasma Casters, and Magic Missiles carried my Axton through most all of UVHM. E-tech Vladoff Blasters are good too. You're going to want the Swordsplosion to last you through the endgame, so that means either resetting & repeating the quest, Gibbing one up as you level, or just putting off getting it altogether. And yeah, I got several Bee shields from Treeants and they do help, especially on those Vladoff's which can have a 10+ RoF. At 57 I'd run this build:
http://www.bl2skills.com/commando.html#54055150010000000000055400105051
And an Unstoppable Pointmant COM if you don't have any legendaries and an adaptive shield if not the Bee.

For an DPUH, just farm the torgue vending machines in Torgue's DLC. go to, say Moxxi's bar there and exit/reload until one appears as item of the day in that machine.

Of course, you need tokens. easiest token farm is probably the Bar Brawl in the Beatdown.

Im playing through in UVHM and am dying a lot.. like.. A... LOT..
But it's fun. I want to use the bee shield because it really helps me kill stuff, but one hit and its gone and so is half my health, so its very situational. I haven't found any special stuff in UVHM yet though. I haven't found any pearlescent weapons yet.

"The Bee is an optional choice; while it allows Vault Hunters to kill enemies easier even without using Slag, its low capacity and long recharge delay make them extremely vulnerable once they take damage. It is possible, although difficult, for a Vault Hunter to get to level 61 with level 50 The Bee and other weapons"

There are some enemies at my level or +1 that even with acid and fire dots on them using legendary weapons, their health regen is faster. I'm level 59 now I think, halfway to 60, and I've had to give up on some quests because I've died so many times and the enemies around me have respawned.

are you, um "slagging" everything first? :snicker:

This is required in UVHM. It sounds like you arent' slagging if enemies are reggening too fast. Also, condition damage effects are a bit nerfed in UVHM. still very useful, obviously, but Consider removing any skill points you have put into "increased proc chance" type skills and put them elsewhere: DPS-type skills, Shield capactiy, etc. Those +30% proc chance with 5/5 skills are actually something like +6% chance in the end, when you consider that the 30% is calculated after the base % of the gun. ...something like that.

As for the Bee, what class are you playing? The Bee tends to be most useful for certain builds/classes but if you do want to use it, you are best off spending 5 points in whatever skill will give you higher shield capacity--Siren, Mech, and I believe Commando have skills like this. If you don't have such a skill, I would look elsewhere.

It also helps to carry a Rubi around in one of your slots. If your health drops below that 50% mark, or just above it, quickly swap to Rubi and toss some grenades to pop your health back up. As long as you remain above 50%, you can never be one-shot. If you feel you are being one-shot in these situations, you are actually being hit by several bullets at the same time, or condition damage is procing on you. Granted, it feels like you are being one shot all the time in UVHM, and it is rare when you are not being hit by multiple bullets at once, but that's how it goes.

If you are playing Sal, one of the more powerful builds is to use a slag Rubi in your offhand (or even better--Grognozzle if you can get one), a really nice absorb shield (like a Sham; especially one that also has fire or electric immunity), and something like a Lady Fist or DPUH in your mainhand. That's pretty much cheating, though...

How do you use code for the Keys? I saw he chest that said I need a gold key to open it but I could figure out how to use the code for the key if I had it then.

I would like to get a corosive weapon when I try to recuse Roland. I didn't doto good the fist time , I didn't thik about doing the side quest first so i was to low I guess to do the quest.

I just know that if I had a corosive type weapon it would help a lot with the robots.

Copy the code. Go in game and paste the code in where it asks for a Shift Code (it's one of the last options on the main game menu, called something like 'Other'?)

Someone mentioned those guns that actually heal you as well before, thanks for reminding me. I must have missed them on my first playthrough, they would be a massive help alright, the grenades that steal health are the only thing keeping me alive (barely!) on UVHM.

I will look for rubi and grognozzle, I think I might have had the lady fist before but I must have gotten rid of it, I didn't even know that it healed you! Are those all the weapons that heal you or are there any more?

Here's a list, The good touch and bad touch are pretty easy to get....Just tip Moxxi at Sanctuary and she'll offer them up. (you need to tip quite a bit...just keep hitting the 1000....I think it's like 30k). Sometimes she'll glitch and not hand over the weapon....If this happens jump up on the bar and look down at her...the weapon will appear....at least it did for me.

SMG: Bad Touch
Sniper rifle: Chère-amie
Rocket launcher: Creamer
SMG: Good Touch
Combat Rifle: Hail
Shotgun: Heart Breaker
Grenade: Kiss of Death
Combat rifle: Kitten(DLC2)
Relic: Moxxi's Endowment
Pistol: Rubi
Splatgun: Slow Hand(DLC2)

Lady Fist doesn't heal--it's just a really good high crit gun, and is great for Sal's main hand. You get it as a reward doing the TK baha mission in the Old Firestone area...dang, forget the name of that map.

Be sure to turn the quest in to the niece, and not Hyperion--that mailbox is next to the bounty board that gives you the quest.

All Moxxi weapons heal. it's a hidden trait that you don't see in the gun card.

Grognozzle is only obtained by certain shenanigans (unless you played during the month long bounty event several months ago, when it dropped from the legendary golem in Tina's DLC). It's a mission-based item that you get while doing claptrap's mission in the mines of avarice in Tina's--the one where you have to get the dwarves drunk and smash them--I think claptrap wants their beards. Start the mission, but never turn it in. Grog will stay in your mission slot, so it won't take up an inventory slot. If you do co-op, you might lose it, though. I forget the specifics, but it can disappear. and various players hate people that use it--consider it cheating.

Grog has the strongest healing--something like 54% of damage, I think. It's nuts. There is also a chance that when you swap to it, you will get "drunk." This gives a little wobbly animation, decreases accuracy, but also doubles...or triples or quadruples? your bullet output for ~4 or 5 seconds. So, same ammunition cost, but up to 4x damage. You can swap in and out until you see the effect, then swap to your main gun and blast away. As you can imagine, this makes certain guns godly.

You get Rubi from Rakkaholics anonymous, the mission from Mordecai after Bloodwing is killed. Just turn into Moxxi (Mordecai will give you a shit gun). Here, you will probably want to spawn a good version, if in UVHM. When she shows you the gun, just alt F4 to close the game without saving. reload, do again until you get what you want. I guess that only matters for Sal, though, where you really want a slag variant. For all other toons, you should be slagging in other ways, and Rubi is just used for healing. Outside of Grog, Rubi is the best healing Moxxi game in the game--I think it's 12%, and all other legit Moxxi weapons are something like 2%

Rubi is all you need, really. You can get through UVHM and digistruct without grognozzle. Just remember that moxxi guns heal you for any type of damage. Most people will swap to it, toss some Tesla grenades, or maybe a now-buffed Fastball or those other legendary mirv grenades (you get from Torgue machines--forget what they are called), and just watch the redbar go up. Just remember to keep the gun in-hand as the damage is being done. I'm not sure if Deathtrap damage counts, though.

If I had to rank them, in terms of healing and general effectiveness:

Rubi (because it is "legit," and has all variants. Healing can still restore all health within 1 or 2 seconds at OP 8 mobs)

Grognozzle (godly healing and godly damage effects; but it is not "legit" and has no slag variant)

Heartbreaker (very good damage, always fire, very fast fire and reload. This can heal you very fast when blasting things in the face. It is quickly out-leveled though. I suggest gibbing it up to an appropriate level. I think you want critical variant, or the one that adds an extra bullet. forget that label). You get this one for recovering Marcus' porn stash in Caustic caverns--he gives you this mission after you return to the now-floating Sanctuary. Just turn in to Moxxi instead of Marcus--which brings up another point: Whenever you have such a choice, always turn in to Moxxi.

Creamer (damage is kinda poor, but people like it for getting out of FFYL, because you come back with something like 75% or more health. it's very situational)

Bad/Good touch (Bad touch is pretty good damage, but is easily outclassed by many other SMG with larger magazines and better accuracy. Plus, you can only get one Bad Touch on your toon, throughout all playthroughs, so you might likely get it in normal mode and then you're screwed. --tipping Moxxi something like 100k+ before she will give it to you. Good touch she will randomly give to you on any type of tip. multiple times...I think)

Oh dang--I forgot about Kitten and Slow Hand. both very good guns with the proper variants and proper application.

Slow Hand is a bitch to get, though. It only drops from Badassassaurus, and at a very low rate. You can kinda still cheat that fight...assuming it hasn't been fixed, with those Torgue grenades and keeping yourself in the hallway.

Thanks man, will do. Haven't had a need for keys yet because I'm still low level but can't hurt to have some extra down the line.

Wow thanks a million for all that info guys, I had no idea guns could heal you (that would have been useful gearbox!), I had the heartbreaker for ages and never noticed that it healed me. Although I probably didn’t need it on Normal, but in UVHM healing would help a lot until I finally find a legendary (or four!) or magic missiles or a norfleet or any of the other seemingly essential weapons I can’t get. Rubi sounds like it will make a big difference alright.

I started Torgue’s campaign and it is hilarious but almost impossible, the only way I can not die is crawling through it using my turret for every single enemy and basically running away from every fight, it feels a bit lame how easily they can kill you, makes your character feel so weak, and it takes AGES, I have to spend all my money on rockets and grenades and I still go into FFYL every couple of minutes.

I see what you mean about the grog nozzle and I normally don’t do things that break games, I don’t even believe in farming, but for UVHM I have no problem whatsoever! It’s mere survival!

Oh, just realized that grognozzle does have a slag variant. I haven't played in a while.

Actually, I think it might always be slag? due to it's "drunken" effect

I didn't particularly need it, but the shotgun from the sift code didn't show up for me.

Edit: Hell, I didn't get the skins either.

I tired entering the code again and it said it had already been redeemed but when I checked again the gun was in my inventory and the skins showed up in the quick change. So I don't know what happened but they're there now.
