BTW, I have been playing single player as Amara (phasezerker) and am really struggling. Everyone says she is one of the stronger characters, but I have finished the game on Mayhem 3 with Moze and FL4K and thought they were much stronger. Amara can deal out a lot of damage, but I get one-shotted all the time. Maybe for multi player with another character as a tank she would be great, but not so sure for single player. Any hints/comments?

FML... i just found out if you have no internet, the game wont load at all.
It will just hang.
I thought my game was broken last night, almost ended up reformating my pc, because a cousin of mine wanted to play.

Sigh...

Gotta love that Online DRM gate.... I guess being able to play games offline is now a thing of luxury and the past.

There is supposed to be an offline mode. I was having internet issues and could never make it work on PC. Maybe it works on consoles.
I really hate that there is no offline mode.

Moze was even more OP before they nerf'd her to hell with the nades.
Even then having regenerating ammo is a big 1 up.

I could never get comfortable with Amara and her skills.
Infact i still think Lilith is probably the most OP siren, with possibly Maya coming close, but Lilith would literally melt everyone and everything around her with her immolation ultimate. It would be comedy watching multipul liliths running around the map with her angel wings just melting everything in her path.

Amara is like they wanted to bring she hulk into the game, but forgot siren's are supposed to be psionic.

Yea, Lilith was my favorite character out of all the games. As for BL3, like I said, managed to finish the game on M3 with Moze and FL4k, but am struggling mightily with Mayhem 2 for Amara. I am almost through the game with Zane on M2 and am struggling much less than with Amara. I havent played Zane for a while or bought the Moxi DLC. Supposedly there is a new class mod that makes Zane much stronger.

I don't know if being online is required just to load the game, but I found it pretty easy to switch between online and offline. ....it was a thing because the loot pools differed greatly at one point, and also you could avoid the hotfixes if you load in offline, which was nice when the hotfixes "broke" things that you didn't want broken (meaning: broken character builds. )

A lot of Amara builds absolutely destroy Lilith's best stuff, and I don't think that has changed much. In fact, I think Amara remains the absolute strongest character in the franchise, because of the way Rush works, and especially with that rush-based mod that dropped a few months ago, and has since been nerfed several times, but doesn't really "fix" how rush inherently works.

You could run around with Amara, get up speed, and one punch giant bosses to death. It was absurd, and unintended (at that point, rush would stack up to 500% damage for any damage type--it was only supposed to effect gun damage). They fixed that part, and reduced the boost to something like 300%...but she is always going to be OP because they aren't going to change how rush works. (...I think it's rush. actually I forget the skill. It's in the green tree).

when it worked on proc damage, too, it was really quite hilarious. I'm not sure if they have or are fixing projectiles, either, because ricochet and multiple projectiles amplifies with each additional elemental damage type--which effects everyone but of course is much better on Amara.

Lilith is still my favorite character, but it's impossible to argue that she can outdamage Amara.

I think these characters have since been balanced. After they nerfed Moze's grenade build, there wasn't any character that could compete with Amara. Now Zane is much better than he was, Robot assassin dude has more builds beyond "vanish and snipe things/wait for CD" ....though I think the problem with Zane is that a lot of his *best* damage still depends on you jumping around all the time? I dunno, always sounded annoying to me.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that "firehose Moze" is stronger than her grenade things was at the time.

didn't have to fiddle with any files. It's a tickbox in the main menu, I think? At least, it always worked for me then, which was ~November or so when I bothered with it. I think they had since changed the loot pool such that offline = online, so I didn't really try after that.

Tried the Ricochet Witch Build. Pretty powerful against mobs. Phaselock those damn anointeds and go to town.
Not so sure about bosses. They are immune to phaselock. Much better than the build I was using though.

It is pretty long, depending on how many side missions you choose to do. Easy to hit the level cap before the end of TVHM, especially if you play mayhem mode which increases XP.
The game is on sale now on Steam, might be a good time to pick it up.

Ya, same currently but the season pass is $40 on sale; so the $50 version with deluxe plus season pass seems like the better deal.

the story is long, however if you want all the legendary guns, you need to play / grind on mayhem mode, which is only accessible after you beaten the game once.

Been playing this build quite a bit since my last post. Thanks for the suggestion. I really like it. Only problem is that I suck at shooting while on the run, so I am not able to utilize it fully most of the time. Can deal amazing amounts of damage when timing everything just right and hitting the target while moving at full speed.

like I said, Lilith is my absolute favorite VH in the series. I like how she does Siren better than the other sirens, especially Amara...but the math isn't there. Broken or not, Amara just facewrecks. She has the same "problem" as Sal did in BL2, being Randy's favorite VH in the game--nothing will be fixed on her because Randy wants her to be broken, lol.

it takes a while to make the ricochet guns work really well, especially the Recursion...which is an awesome, dps gun that clears screens of targets, but it's one of those BL things where you have to learn how to use funky mechanics to make things happen. It doesn't feel very "real" of course, but it's a BL game.

and before they "fixed" Mindfulness (that's the skill that I confused with Rush...makes sense, because it depends on running speed), the deal was chucking tediore shotguns at your targets to instant kill them, like even Graveward on M4. Still, you want slow-moving projectiles because the damage depends on the speed you are running when the projectile hits the target. So you could still run around in circles (or around the arena reloading and doing other stuff) to build up damage potential.

Either FL4K or Moze... I ran w/ Moze on my solo because of the mech but she's got a lot of gun-centric perks and upgrades
