For a while now I was thinking that action skill mods maxed out at 4, but last night I did the mission to collect the acid crystals and after using it that is now at 5. Anyone know what the max lvl for them are?

It's six.

It also looks like they released a patch for the 360 today, you can see all the text lines for your gear now. I can't find a changelog yet.

does the skill mod stack with what you already have? like goes beyond 5?

From what I've read the class mod bonus adds to what you already have in the skill and is suppose to allow you to go over the 5 cap. Although you still have to have at least 1 point in that skill.

There's a lot here. Read the full change list below.

* * Characters that have lost skill points will have them returned the next time they are loaded
* * Most instances involving character data loss when playing online should no longer occur
* * Item cards now display the intended five lines of text
* * Achievements should now unlock properly. Players should automatically receive achievements that did not unlock correctly
* * Fixed a progression issue in the Find Steele mission – characters affected by this issue should now be able to continue progressing
* * Some issues involving external data manipulation of the backpack and character level have been addressed
* * The auto-aim option should now fully disable auto-aim properly
* * Fixed a bug that kept challenges and achievements from unlocking for the rest of a session after visiting arenas
* * Fixed some formatting issues with the server list screen.
* * Fixed an issue causing servers to report the incorrect plot mission.
* * Proficiency progress to the next level should no longer be lost when leaving a multiplayer game as a client
* * Lilith's "Silent Resolve" skill now works as intended
* * Fixed a bug that allowed Mordecai to spawn multiple Bloodwings
* * Mordecai's "Loaded" skill now increases mag capacity by 20%
* * Roland's "Scattershot" skill has had its spread adjustment corrected, and damage now increases at +5 per level

The extra line on the item cards are nice to know. I had a heavy gunner class mod I was about to sell until I saw that last line was +20% dmg.

I'm surprised with how little loot problems I've seen. Almost everybody I've played with have had certain classess check if they need a weapon before he takes it and sells it. Sooo much better than the immaturity you see in Halo and CoD.

When I was lower level it seemed that when joining open games there were a lot of loot whores. At higher levels it seems not to be quite as bad. Although I have yet to join an open game that was as good as gorcorps mentioned.

Still working on getting Roland to lvl 50 on 2nd playthrough. I can't remember the skill name but one of them gives +% dmg to the turrent. Does anyone know if this also increases the dmg for the guilded missles?

guided missles are not worth using in my opinion. they are to slow. points are more usefull somewhere else.

At times I've seen it where the turrent bullets were hitting a partial wall that the enemy was behind but the missle came from above and blew him up.

Skills I have maxed, not sure of all the names
Impact - More bullet dmg is always good
Metal storm - Increases RoF after killing enemy
Refire - Shots fired decrease cooldown for turrent
?? Shield - Increases recharge rate
?? Shield - Get shield recharge after killing enemy
Fitness - More HP
Overload - Increase clip size

Not maxed yet & haven't deceided which to max or move pts elsewhere
Guided missles
?? Grenade - Regen & +dmg to grenades after killing an enemy
Barrage - Use support gunner at times so I put 1pt here to get the + benefit

i would max these

impact
sentry
metal storm
defense
fitness
overload
stat
grit(u need to get to stat)
i would only put 1 skill into grenade. thats all u really need to regen grenades.
and 1 point into quick recharge
put the rest into barrage

just tweak it from there.... my guy at level 5 is pretty unstoppable.

i have having the most success with a level 5 explosive addon for the sentry and use a +team ammo regen class mod.

1 Impact – Increases Bullet Damage with all weapon types. Starts with +3% Bullet Damage; adds an additional +3% for each skill point of this.

Defense – Increases how quickly your shields recharge. Starts with +4% Shield Recharge Speed, with an additional +4% for each subsequent skill point.

Fitness – Increases your Maximum Health. +5% Max. Health at first skill point.

Sentry - Increases Scorpio Turret damage. +7% Scorpio Turret damage at start; an additional +7% for each skill point increase.

Stockpile – Players near the Scorpio Turret regenerate ammo for the weapon currently in their hands. Starts off with +1 Ammo Regeneration Rate.

Aid Station – Allies near Scorpio turret regenerate health. Regenerates +1% health per second.

2 Scattershot – Increases shotgun damage and spread. Starts with +3% Shotgun Damage and +5% Shotgun spread, with an additional +3% in damage and +5% in spread for each skill point allocated here.

Quick Charge – Killing an enemy causes your shields to quickly regenerate for a few seconds. Starts off with +2% Shields per second.

Overload – Increases magazine capacity with all weapon types. Starts with +12% Magazine Size.

Metal Storm – Killing an enemy increases your Fire Rate and reduces Recoil for a few seconds. Starts with +6% Weapon Fire Rate and +15% Recoil Reduction.

Barrage – Increases the number of shots your Scorpio Turret fires in each burst. Starts off with +1 Shots fired per burst.

Cauterize – Shooting team members heals them. This effect also works with grenades and rockets. Converts +6% damage from your weapon to health.

3 Refire - Shooting an enemy reduces the Cooldown of your Scorpio Turret. This effect can only occur every two seconds (meaning two second interval after hitting the first enemy). Starts off with 1 second in reduction per hit. [Note: shots while the turret is active will reduce the cooldown. This is in contrast to Deploy, which reduces the cooldown once the turret has ended.]

Grenadier – Killing an enemy increase your grenade damage and causes you to regenerate grenades for a few seconds. Starts off with +2 Grenades per minute and +3% Grenade Damage.

Revive – The Scorpio Turret has a chance to instantly revive nearby crippled friends when deployed. Starts with +14% Revival Chance.

Assault - Increases Magazine Size and reduces Recoil with Combat Rifles. Starts off with +9% Magazine Size and Recoil Reduction.

Deploy - Reduces the cooldown for your Turret. Starts off with a reduction of +20%.

Grit - Increases your resistance to Bullet Damage. Adds +3% Bullet Resistance at first skill upgrade.

4 Guided Missile – Your Scorpio Turret launches guided missiles in addition to using its regular gun. Starts off with your turret shooting a missile after every 8 seconds.

Supply Drop – The Turret periodically fires out supply pickups to resupply players. Pickups come out every 7 seconds for the initial skill upgrade.

Stat- Killing an enemy increases health regeneration for you and nearby friends for a few seconds. Starts off with +1% health regeneration per second.

Thanks for the list.

For some reason I overlooked Grit & Stat. I'll do a respec going that route to check them out. I like refire but it's only been really helpfull against mini-boss / boss types, like skagzilla.

i dont really like grit. but i like stat. this way i dont need to rely on the health regen sheilds. or health dropping.

but try things out and see what you u like. i found later in the game i didnt really use my turret to much. my weapons were beastly so i could just run and gun.

I pretty much gave up on HP regen sheilds awhile back, only thing I look at now is str & recharge. Just always made sure I had a few super health pots in my inventory before heading out.

I tried it last night and I really like stat. I don't really notice grit doing much for me though. Went to try it out in an public game and came across some major hacked gear. I'll be cleaning it out of my inventory next time I play, was too tired last night to mess with it.

Finally hit 50 with Roland, although my best weapons are low 40s still. I ended up going:

Impact – 5
Sentry - 1
Metal Storm - 5
Refire - 2

Defense – 5
Quick Charge - 5
Barrage - 1
Grenadier – 1

Fitness – 5
Overload – 5
Grit - 5
Stat - 5

I normally use the ammo regen class mods and they tend to give + Barrage, so I put 1 pt there. Just 1 in sentry for a little bonus dmg. The 2 pts in refire are so I can use the turrent a little more often if needed.

Now just need to get 2nd playthrough finished up and I'll be ready to move on to one of the others.

After playing last night I double checked my 2 main smgs that I swap between and they are only in the mid 30s.

While I was going through the crimson lance fort I picked up a light orange revolver that is lvl 48 & fairly nice from what I can tell as I don't normally use pistols. Dmg is listed as 357, fairly acc & refire isn't too bad, and it has a scope although it doesn't say how much. The nicest part is it does all types of elem dmg, it rotates between fire, acid, elec & explosive with a X3 rating.

Rotating types? I didn't even know that was possible. You were playing alone through right, so it wasn't hacked that way?
