Another thing I was just thinking. If you are trying to focus on the story I'm thinking money might become a little of a problem as the side missions give $ rewards & the extra crap to sell.

I could run the chests with my soldier and gather all the higher lvl gear, it normally sells for 100k+ and bring it into your game to drop for the lower lvl guys to sell. I wouldn't think that doing this once or twice would take very long and be set for a little while to buy whatever better items that comes along.

Gotcha. Didn't know you weren't going to have if very much longer. Depending on how fast you really want to go, I can always bring in my soldier to increase the speed or even to raid the machines if you see something you like.

Although if we have the chance I was wondering if you wouldn't mind taking a few minutes to help me move a few guns from my soldier to my hunter.

Yeah, I told him I'd get it back to him on Sunday, I was contemplating buying it and I saw he had it and he said to go ahead and give it a whirl (nice since he just got it for Christmas).

I'd be happy to help you move stuff (or, per the Diablo 2 name, "Transfer" or "Xfer" your gear).

I'm all for any sort of money help...do I need money to progress through the story?

I may have you just grab your soldier and help me plow through it if we can...even so I don't know if we'll be able to finish it in the short time we have. I'm lvl 20 and have maybe $80,000.

Lucky you. Unfortunatly I've lost touch with my old RL game playing friends, so no game swapping / borrowing for me. If he plays coop pass my GT along, always looking for a good team. Of course if you do decide to get it, that's already the making of a 3 party team.

Thanks. I've held onto this one sniper rifle wanting to try it with a hunter, it was my 1st orange gun & I really liked it. I've also got a few higher lvl revolvers that I won't use as a soldier but may work good for him also.

Money could possibly come into play more so by skipping the side quests. They give money rewards, extra gear (possibly useful or just to sell). Along with having to buy better items sooner as you will need stronger guns, shields etc as you go along. The best ammo sdu (so you can carry more ammo) goes for a little over 500k each.

After you beat the game it opens up playthrough 2, same story but stronger enemy & better loot. I've cleared the main story with him both times although I did quit doing the side missions when I was getting close to lvl 50. Using him we might be able to get you through it.

Hehe, you'll laugh here, he's actually a high school freshman that my wife and I lead a Bible study for. Great kid, he just got his 360 for Christmas and is tied up with MW2 and Halo: ODST and said I could borrow Borderlands if I wanted to (I didn't ask to, he offered). He was heartbroken when I said he was going to lose all his achievements when he joined XBL...he's waiting for his long network cable to arrive.

I have one IRL friend that I do game with relatively often (Slayer, you raced with he and I a few times, he's the Viper guy). I've also got my wife's first cousin on my friends list but I've never actually seen him online playing. The other 96 of the guys on my friend's list I've never met.

Yeah, I know beating the game opens up new play throughs, I'm not gonna get that far methinks though. Although I did hear that if you make a game at the end of playthrough 2 and I join in at my lvl I'll level like crazy...not that I condone that sort of thing...

As for buying it I found a guy who'll sell it for $38 shipped...I'll probably skip out for now though.

That's cool.

He shouldn't lose his achievements just because he gets live, unless MS changed something. I played on mine for quite awhile before I even plugged in a network cable, had my profile named "me". It's been a bit but if I remember right I logged into my profile than went about going live with it. I had to change the name as "me" was taken or wasn't allowed. Got my free mth of gold and all my achievements, saves etc followed over to my live profile name. I've even still got some cars in my FM2 garage that say original owner "me".

I jumped on with my soldier last night & ran the chests in New Haven a couple times. I've go a load of guns you can sell ranging from 100k - 850k each, that should help for a bit.

I switched over to my hunter & ran them. Got my first yellow/orange & it's a revolver. It regens it's own ammo, does explosive dmg, but no scope. Another guy that I've played with before joined in & we went to that arena near Fyrestone & a yellow/orange revolver dropped pretty much the same as that one execpt it did elec dmg.

Before I quit for the night I re-ran the New Haven chests a few times & got another yellow/orange revolver. Still no scope, better dmg, does acid dmg but only a 2 rnd clip which sucks. Have to gain a few lvls to try this one though.

I got a 215 dmg revolver with a scope (Purple I think?) running the chest. You can take a look at it if you'd like.

I had some pts in Gun Crazy but I didn't ever notice it working so for now I took them out & put elsewhere. Does anyone know if it works with revolvers?

Sure, thx.

I used that explosive last night, and I think it's the most I've used an explosive gun. It's kinda cool when it kicks in, the emeny becomes gibblets.

I actually think it's a 215 dmg revolver with a corrosion mod...I'm not 100% positive though. Only 3 shot cylinder though.

Ouch. I'll still give it a test run & see if the small clip hurts me too much with my crappy aiming.

Well, I was up early this morning (couldn't sleep) and decided to go back and kill the giant Skag...he was big but not too tough. He killed me though...because I picked up an extra shield I didn't want and sold it off of my "equipped" screen without replacing it. So I had no shields (I couldn't figure out what happened at first). Put my shield back on and didn't have any more issues. Did most of the quests for that area (I also cleared out the race track, is there a quest I need to do to get the achievement for doing it quickly?).

Hit lvl 25 and it unlocked a new tier of weapons...although amazingly my lvl 13 3 shot burst assault rifle is still my favorite weapon. 88 dmg for a lvl 13 rifle is pretty high (or is it just me?) I'm picking up 5* dmg rifles that are lvl 22 and don't have any extra mods...

I'm on the mission now to get the guy's booze back.

Oh, and I got the achievement for killing a guy by jumping on him...that was surprisingly difficult against Skag's since they kept jumping away from me.

Thanks for helping move the guns. Did you give that Combustion SMG a try?

The race track achievement isn't tied into any quest. It took me a few times to get it. Have to use boost & there is a hard to see shortcut that you pretty much have to take to get it. Also from what I've read the timer starts when you pass the banner strung in the air as you enter the track & ends when you come back past it.

Lucky you. After you quit I went back to my hunter & started doing some side quests in New Haven, still need about 10k xp to hit lvl 25 so I can use the new guns.

I used the full auto rifles & smgs as I had the metal storm skill maxed. I had a lvl 19 purple combat rifle that I was still using after starting playthrough 2, (Dmg & Acc in the 90s, Refire close to 9 and a scope). If I remember right when I did quite using it I had switched over to that Combustion smg.

I use the combustion SMG alot but honestly my lvl 13 rifle seems to knock guys out as fast. Only drawback is the 12 shot magazine (with the +ammo bonuses it's 16).

Yeah, I just ran through several quests and I'm at lvl 25, about halfway through that as well.

You probably already know but the more you use it the higher you skill lvl for that type of gun. When I switched over to it my CR skill lvl was in the 20's, but my SMG skill lvl was only around 2 or 3, it took a little bit but it gained lvls pretty quickly.

The burst fire cr have crap for mag size, it's one of the reasons I really don't like them for a soldier. Also if you are using the Metal Storm skill (I highly recommend you do) than to really get the benefit from it you need to be using something that is full auto.

That purple I mentioned earlier between overload & using a support gunner class mod that gave +mag size I had about 150 rnd mag.

Not sure if anyone else besides me & kabob still checks this thread.

I tried the hunter skill Gun Crazy & never noticed it doing anything while using revolvers. Does anyone know if it works for revolvers?

I've seen a couple Gunslinger class mods now & the name to me would be for someone that is going mainly for pistol use, but the ones I've seen have bonuses to sniper rifle skills. What is up with that?

Ran a few more side quests last night & hit lvl 26. Going a little different than I originally planned, but so far so good. Been using a +5 hp regen survivor class mod as the couple others I've seen didn't add much of anything bonus wise or skill wise that would be helpful.

I'll have to double check the stats but got a new revolver with dmg between 300 - 400 and has a good zoom scope. Only down side is only 2 shot mag. So far I lead with it & as they come rushing I switch back to the explosive one that I talked about earlier. At this rate I'll probably end up hanging onto the explosive one for a while as it has ammo regen on it.

Kabob - You must be blowing through the quests. I've been doing the ones in New Haven & haven't gotten to the booze one yet. Have you killed Mothrakk?

Blowing through the quests? It was like the 3rd quest they gave me. I haven't done any of the job board quests, I went to New Haven and turned all the generators on. Leader lady told me to meet some other lady so I did that. She wanted me to meet some guy in a scrap yard so I did that. He wanted me to kill mercs for one quest and blow something up for another. Next quest he gave me was the booze quest. I played for maybe 20 mins last night and finished it and now he's got me going to get a key from a boss sounding guy (starts with a "K"...Krull maybe?). Out of curiosity how far through the actual main plot am I?

Yeah, I gave you that high power lvl 25 revolver but the 2 shot mag does suck. I've got a 2 shot 89x11 dmg shotgun that I use from time to time...with that though it's usually 2 shots and they're down, with the revolver there's no guarantee they're down since you don't always hit 'em.

I also got a corrosive grenade mod, I tore throught he spider ants like nobody's business. Throw one of them and it kills 2-3 ants in a vacinity.

Ok for some reason I was thinking it was a side quest that was further along. I've been knocking out the board & the other peoples side missions. Still have to go meet the women that sends you to the scrapyard.

Not sure if you found it, but there is a claptrap in need of repair in the scrapyard.

Krom, be sure & take a sniper or something with some good zoom. He hides behind a turrent. I normally just stay as far back as possible & take it out before going too far as there are others that spawn.

See if I can remember this, although probably not in order. There are two more named bosses, 1 human & 1 not. The women that sends you to the scrapyard gets kidnapped and it takes a few missions to free her. After all that you start working your way to the vault.

I really like the rubberized ones as they are easier to use for me. Most of the time they are just explosive, but I did get a fire one the other night. Here lately though I've been using the transfusion ones the most.

I'll probably be on tonight if you want to team up, although you're futher along in the story than me. I might be able to catch up quickly or just join in with my soldier.

I won't be on tonight unless it's late. Straight from work the wife and I are going to another couple's place for dinner (and probably Wii). Then we'll head home as tomorrow her parents are coming to stay with us and I'm helping another friend move...it's going to be a really busy weekend. At least there's no work Monday.

I didn't see the claptrap, I also didn't browse around too much though. I went straight to the objectives. I've got a 215 dmg or so sniper that has x2 electric damage that I've been using alot. Since I'm a higher level then most of the guys I fight now a headshot is almost a guaranteed 1 hit kill for the unshielded guys and most of the bigger guys go down pretty easily.

Really unless I play tonight it's the last I'll get to play the game for a while. I told the guy I borrowed it from I'd get it back to him on Sunday.

Crazy Earl's quests in the scarpyard lead you straight back, but as you go along not too far from him there is a path that goes off to the left. The claptrap is down that way.

I just remembered that 1 vs 100 live might be on tonight. If the wife wants to play it might be a bit late as well playing that with her.

With your time being short. If you want to start rushing through the story I could just use my soldier to help plow through some. That is if you get a chance to play.

I've been thinking of getting a wii. We played on one over the holidays & my wife liked the bowling game. Which is a good thing to me as it is the 2nd game she has liked & we can play it together. Does it have an ethernet port on it?

If I can get on I might take you up on your offer to plow through the story.

As for the Wii it has no ethernet port but it does have built in WiFi and you can buy a USB ethernet adapter for it if needed. Honestly though we play Wii maybe once every month and a half to two months. Unless your wife just LOVES it or you have guests over all the time who want to play I'd steer clear.

So far I'm liking the hunter. Although a lot of the class mods I've come across have bonuses to some skill(s) in the bloodwing tree, which I don't really care for too much especially since there is a class mod that actually focuses on that tree.

Some of the soldier support gunner mods had +mag size instead of a bonus to another skill. I'm liking the surviour class mod for the hunter so far and was wondering if some of them have a bonus like the support gunner.
