That's what I've read. At some point you can get all your points back (for a price) but I don't know when that's allowed and how pricey that would be.

Just go to the New Me panel anytime and you can re-spec at any time. It does cost money though.

Gearbox dev Randy Pitchford tweeted that Borderlands is selling out. Good news for them if true. Don't know if it is an indication of huge demand or just a small first print, but good news none the less.

I think they purposefully didn't ship a lot of copies to build some buzz about it selling out. This seems to be a fairly under the radar game for a lot of people, and with the video posted for this in the PC forum where they make fun of the mainstream/casual gamer, I think its a marketing ploy. I'm not saying its bad, as they're going up against some heavyweights (Halo, Call of Duty) so they're going to need all they can get. Then again, maybe this really is a game meant for the "real" gamers and sales aren't the focus.

In an interview with Joystiq, Gearbox explains that the supply problems are regional. PS3 supply problems on the West Coast and 360 shortages on the east coast. They're working on reallocating units and "working with production and distribution at ramping up to catch up with demand," adding that fresh copies should hit "as early as Thursday or Friday."

I was at a Gamestop earlier and they didn't have any for 360 (didn't notice any for the PS3 but didn't look much, and didn't look at all for the PC). They didn't even have any advertisements or anything either (didn't even have boxes out for the 360). I'm in the midwest. Could be Gamestop just didn't get any pre-orders and so sent copies elsewhere.

Well I got a chance to play this last night, friend brought it over. We started a co-op game that actually glitched out, 10 minutes in.

We were following that robot and it was just frozen there, we could still move around and explore but the robot wouldn't move. Had to exit and 'save' which actually didn't save anything except our guns and ammo we picked up. We had to restart the entire first level and fight through all of the enemies again (easier since we had the guns already) and then it worked the second time through.

So far I'm not impressed at all... buggy games piss me off.

Really it's that easy? I never bothered to us the New Me panel after the beginning as I figured it was just to change colors/names.

I'm still early in game, but what's the deal with the extra claptrap robots? There's one hidden on a ledge in the first town. I was able to get on top of a building next to the ledge and the robot would yell "Hey, over here!", but I couldn't make it to him. There was an invisible wall keeping me from jump from the building to the ledge... which I found odd because there was an arrow on top of the building pointing over toward the robot.

I never saw that one. Eventually if you get to those guys you'll get quests to repair them and the reward is additional backpack space, which is very welcome.

Well crap. Went back to Blockbuster today just a few minutes after they opened but all they had were display cases. All copies of Borderlands were checked out. Guess they must have put the game out yesterday after I left.

I knew I should have asked the clerk if they had gotten it in stock but he had a line of customers he was helping and I got impatient because I had another errand to run during lunch. Guess that's what I get for being impatient.

Now I don't know when if at all I'll be able to play this now.

Nice, I'm gonna make sure and do those quests immediately.

Finally got to spend some quality time with this. Joined a random group of 3 and surprise, they weren't douches. Ended up having a ton of fun and got to level 16. This game is a blast with 3 partners.

should we start somekind of item exchange?

i know i have been playing with rage and fett and we swap weapons easily.... i would have no issues looking out for some items or class mods or those other add ons.

right now i am using the soldier shot/combat rifle
so i can give lower sold weaps or hang onto sniper rifles/zookas/pistols or other class specific add ons.

prolly would only be worth exchanging the orange and purple items....

Just got to 'New Haven' or w/e it's called and have fast travel activated. The world is MUCH easier to get around in and it's a lot funner since you spend less time driving/walking from place to place.

I had the same problem, the robot wouldn't open a door to progress the story. After I restarted the game I haven't had a problem.

Did you get the one that's on a ledge about the weapon vendor in the first city? I'm still not sure how to get to it. I should be able to reach by jumping off the top of the building, but an invisible wall stops me. Is there another way to get there?

later you use the NewMe panels to port around once you get out of the starter area.

Ugh.. I hate buggy shit like this. I hope they patch this thing, was thinking about buying it but I'm not going to want to run into bullshit like that halfway through a huge level and then lose my progress.

whats the cost for a lvl 20 respec? I think im going to redo my character. focus on medic skills. health seems to be major problem in big games..

i want to do the shoot teammates to heal. i read if u combine that with a shotty at point blank is like instant heal.

right now my shotty at point blank only does 55x9 = 495dmg *30% heal = ~150 health pershot
