Borderlands coming Oct 20th

I bet it's an awesome place on a second playthrough. In theory everything should be like level 50 but I'm not sure how that works

I rented this the other day, playing single player. Have a lvl 10 soldier. I'm getting throuoghly owned by the "Bonehead". Doesn't matter what I do, I can't get his shields down fast enough to take a chunk out of his life before he tears through my shields and smokes me.

I've tried sniping with the "incindiary" sniper rifle...even after three crits in a row he's still walking. Tried accurate aiming with a "deadly" combat rifle...still no good. Tried full on assault with the Wave shotgun. Nothing. Grenades...he just avoids them.

Do I just need to do more quests and gains some more levels? I took out all the brutes and other people in the camp with no problem. But the bonehead guy just smokes me in about 2 seconds.

Use a static weapon to take down his shields if you can find one. Then switch to something more powerful and spray bullets at his face. Helps to take down his cronies first though.

The fifth chest is up some stairs. You will see a washing machine, jump on it then jump on top of the building.

Use something with the electric element, it does the most damage against shields.

Guys you should check out the strategy guide. Got it in yesterday, it's near 400 pages. MASSIVE. I skipped all the walkthrough stuff personally, but there's lots of other useful info in it. Brought some clarity to the loot system. It's probably the most complex and diverse loot system ever made.

Anybody around level 13 want to party up? I've had the worst luck with pubbies. Fucking douches just kicked me for no reason after I repeatedly revived their dumb asses. Another one was what seemed like 12 year olds just screaming into their mics and running around in circles punching each other. I forgot just how terrible some of the people on XBL are after having such a great experience with Uncharted 2 pub games on PSN.

we had a sale here at $40 canadian, which probably helped to deplete the already scarce stock. but even stores selling it at full price is also sold out (unwillingness to price match or really is that popular?). maybe when the sale ends they'll magically appear again. in any case I can wait a while. actually at this rate Ill probably get dragon age first.

I was going to compare this release to Crackdown; one of those "holy crap, this game is good" instances. But when the sale numbers come out for the 360, I think this bested even it. And Crackdown had a Halo 3 demo on the disc

i went weapon farming last night. just single player. found crap. jesus. the random weapon drop. i think i farmed for like 4 hours. haha.
all i found was a sniper rifle. sigh.

oh and i did find the 5th weapon box in new haven. its up on the roof behind the red weapon box thats by the dumpster.

u need to take the stairs up behind the building and jump over. its another white ammo cache.

make sure you are using a second controller for split screep coop. Makes the drops that much better.

also, man you can power level in this game like crazy. 1-20 in less then a hour using the Trash Coast. I may use this technique to get a Siren, Soldier and Hunter up in level so I can get those achievements.

i tried the second controller thing. my drops were not much better either way. seemed pretty easy...


trash coast? is that where the boat achievment is?

I did a few farming runs last night and got a nice rocket launcher that shoots 3 at a time. it is like 225x3 or similar. I also finally got a decent sniper rifle. How come most of the orange/yellow weapons are trash though?

good question. I found an alien weapon last night, does tons of damage but the sight is completely crooked.

hey I have a question that I figured somebody here might know. Is there a way to customize your weapons? My friend seems to think that there is a way to break down weapons and modify other ones with the parts, like adding a scope to an unscoped item etc. is this possible or is he just dreaming?

Not sure what he's thinking, but that's not how it works. Every stat is randomly generated for the gun and that can't be changed (unless something changes in the 2nd playthrough)

ok cool that's what I thought as well. It's very possible he heard it about some other game and just kinda added it to what he thought about borderlands.

Loving the game so far, playing as the hunter solo and Brick in multiplayer with a friend, and the bird for the hunter is so awesome. I love just letting it loose to clear out 5 targets while im sniping.

I'm level 20 and still haven't found a good weapon. I'm finishing up quests in the arid badlands(?) before moving on to the next area. The best I have is a purple assault rifle that shoots shock rounds, but it fires and reloads slow as all hell and the clip only holds 6 rounds. I know that won't be enough for New Haven.

Any good chests around the beginner areas that have a high chance of spawning non-shitty weapons?

Also, anybody know the lowest level you can use a corrosive weapon is? I found a pistol at like level 15 but it was level 26 so I just sold it. I could really use a corrosive weapon as those fucking armored skags are annoying.

I just got in a car with the machine gun and locked on and beat down on her for awhile. Is that how the fight is supposed to go? just seems kinda weak.

You know I'm not sure and wonder the same thing. I'm not sure if it gives you any bonuses if you have no points in that skill. There's nothing in the game I've seen that hints either way.
