Being a port, I think we all know the answer . I'm just hoping that they at least make the PC interface smooth enough for me to find my friends easily and not have connection issues.

It is not a port.

Eh, the fact that they are releasing on consoles a week before the PC tells me where their priorities are.

Consoles require a lot less work to optimize and find bugs. The fact that the delay is less than a week should say exactly where their priorities are.

Actually, the fact that they are being released a week apart shows just how smart Microsoft is. They know if the game is a hit, and I'm hoping it will be, people will buy what is available first. And since Xbox360 has a larger market than PC gamers, they simple offer some incentive to release "early" (we all know the games are done well before release date) and give them an "advantage."

I, for one, will probably be buying the console version. Most of my friends have computers hardly capable enough to play WoW, so I think a game like this will be out of the question. It just means they'll buy it for Xbox and I'll probably do the same. I just wish they would allow keyboard and mouse already...

Microsoft doesn't have any say in the release. The game isn't finished yet for the PC version, that's why it's delayed. They have a work counter on their website, it was at 17 work items left last I checked. I don't know how long they need between going gold and release, but I imagine the work counter is the reason they estimated the 6 day delay. Maybe if they manage to finish those 17 items this week we'll see it released on time. They've been going through them fairly fast, they were at 80+ work items I think when the delay was announced.

I've watched a few more videos... I think I may find it to be a fun game, but regarding the title of this thread, I don't think it "looks" amazing as far as graphics are concerned. It does look like there is potential for it to be enjoyable though.

I just read about Gearbox pinching the Steam system, interesting, especially coming from that company which has been working with Valve since a long time, they know them well. I always liked Gearbox, but that makes me love them, not holding on your thoughts and expressing yourself despite having contracts or working with/for someone to me is a good thing, I will support them, and I think I will buy the retail version.

I don't think he was being negative to Valve as a company, but rather to Steam being owned and operated by a competitor in general. Valve isn't really a competitor to Gearbox, they don't have any games to compete with them.

Maximum PC: We see a lot of games developed simultaneously on multiple platforms, where the PC is very clearly a second-class citizen compared to the Xbox and PS3 SKUs. What have you guys done differently with Borderlands?

Randy Pitchford: The first thing is that we author our content on the PC. With Borderlands, we?re not porting the game to the PC, we?re starting there. The PC is our development platform.

The best-looking version of the game that you?re going to get is on PC. We target a high-end PC, but it?s scalable so you?ll still have a great experience on a 2-year-old PC. A 2-year-old PC will be comparable to the Xbox experience.

I wish people would stop calling every multiplatform game a port. That's not what a port is, morans.

Randy Pitchford has been saying those same things for months. Even the worst ports on the PC have better graphics compared to the console version, that's nothing to brag about. Another thing they like to mention is that they reworked PC interface so that it works with a mouse, how unexpected for a game that started development on the PC! However, I've yet to see them address two huge issues for multiplayer PC games, matchmaking and hacking.

This silence coupled with that fact they allowed the PC version to slip a week do not make me hopeful that the PC version is the center of their attention. I'd love to be pleasantly surprised though, because I've already pre-ordered from D2D.

More than what Bethesda did for Oblivion.

Pitchford is a huge fan of PC gaming, he always has been. For him, consoles are a way to make money on a product, the PC is where they want to play it tho.

he keeps saying it because it's the way he feels. If you've seen many interviews with him, you'll know he's a man who pretty much speaks his mind.

As far as I know, no. I don't know of any games on the PC that do split screen.

I play on PC so I don't have to use those gimpy controllers. Not that it matters to me, this game looks awful.

Mildly unrelated comment, but thanks for sharing.

Explain. Is it the gameplay or the graphics that are throwing you off? It was #1 at PAX, so it would be impossible for it to be "awful" in general.
