Ended up beating Circle of Duty on my Hunter... I should have kept a "Second Wind Count", because it was pretty high . It still amuses me how ridiculously powerful my level 22 Pestilent Defiler is. Those Rocketeers though... they really seem to bring my health down fast. I guess it's because I can't get behind cover so they are constantly hitting me :\.

Oh, and the game will always scale to your level after you defeat Knoxx in PT2, which makes doing DLC4 after that a bit harder, and also makes Circle of Duty harder (since it can only be done after defeating Knoxx).

I'd recommend trying to get one of them done around 10 or 15 as you need extra XP initially anyway if you don't do side missions in vanilla.

Eek... I'd be wary of doing DLC1 at such a low level. The part where you have to get to Ned (or is it Zed... I can never remember which is which) and fight off hordes of enemies would be terrible at such a low level. Mostly because you don't really have a good weapon at such low levels to deal with so many guys.

There is actually a safe spot in that arena, in the far left corner from the entrance. You can do all the cycles without any second wind, but without much fun also. I was forced to use it before I found a good corrosive sniper, now it's just a bad memory

I've been working on Circle of Duty with a friend, and the player count set to 4, with it level to us (level 68.) It's rough.

Hmm one nice thing about doing it with others is that at least you don't have to attempt to cover all angles by yourself! You can also get more advantages from team-based class mods .

I find it easier if you abuse the AI as well. It's really only possible to do on a Siren though. The secret is usually that enemies only spawn on one side at a time. So if enemies spawn on the north platform, just Phasewalk to the southern side, and the enemies will not chase after you. As any other class, some enemies will stand there dumbfounded as to why they're being shot, but others will come after you (Engineers and Combat Medics ( ) seem to be the most aggressive). As a Siren, pretty much all enemies will just stand there wondering why they're melting.

One time I almost died because I thought a vehicle was coming out and I needed to get to high ground. I was below a set of stairs leading to the north platform (I had to jump down after a bunch of badasses spawned there, which happens on the last round), and there was a badass shock lance right up the stairs. I just ran up anyway .

Well that suggestion was if you wanted to actually bother with DLC in PT1 instead of PT2 (which isn't ideal).

I've done Claptrap before @ the lower levels in PT1 & it's really nice being able to farm the gift shop for good lower level stuff

This game is just ridiculous how it pulls me back in again & again.

Granted, part of the pull is the Borderlands forums where i see others posting their great loot & making me want to farm, but i cannot believe i'm going to likely be hitting an hours-played milestone i've only ever reached before in UT2k4.

I didn’t use second wind at all with my Soldier. Then again he was level 45 when I attempted it. I could even resist several shock hits from the vehicle.

There must be a limit because my level 45 Soldier is facing level 37 bandits in the Claptrap DLC. Their threat is so low I don’t even need to fight them; my turret does all the work while I pick up loot. I haven’t even put any upgrades into it aside from reduced cooldown and a level 4 corrosion artifact.

This is all on play through #1. I like being over-levelled; it’s my reward for putting in hard work earlier.

Yeah you are over-leveled for PT1...you should ideally be in PT2 if you are 35-40+.
It's sometimes nice not to have to worry about dying constantly though, & overleveling will accomplish that

I can definitely see myself playing this game on farm for quite awhile on solo. Just finished up Play through 1 at level 33ish with about 1.5 million "credits" [I'm a loot/quest junky]. Started the claptrap DLC yesterday and only looking out for 100k+ loot drops or loots which will replace my gear].

Might try it on co-op someday, but it's just too damn fun running around solo - I can take my time and go wherever I please.

You shouldn't have any problems on Playthrough 1 as long as you aren't really low level. Defeating Knoxx on Playthrough 2 causes all quests and enemies to scale to your level so that normal enemies are +1 and badasses are +2 over your level. Trust me when I say that Circle of Duty is significantly harder on Playthrough 2... mostly the later stages though. I recall running through one of the earlier stages without even taking cover.

I usually finish PT1 at 36-37 with 4-5 mil, the very first time I played the game I only had about 2 mil and I missed out on a 3,5 mil Maliwan sniper in PT2 at Fyrestone, I then decided to never end the first PT without a solid wallet.

I am always going through the zombie dlc first and the scaling always happens during the second PT of the main game, somewhere at level 48-49 I think, when I reach Jakob's Cove I'm at 55 and the zombies are at 56, badasses at 57.

damn it, why is the DLC pack ($20) same price as Borderline GOTY edition?

oh well, I guess I am just hatin' and ignoring the fact that $20 bucks for 4 DLC is a pretty good deal on its own.

Claptrap, Zombie, and Knoxx DLC each have more content than an entire COD game.

...so yeah, it's worth it.

(though I hate zombie DLC. I'm just sick of zombies, lol)
