We have a Bosch dishwasher. Excellent. Don't know about the washers/dryers, but I would recommend an LG washer/dryer. Got ours at Home depot and they blow away our previous maytags.

My friend at consumer report finally got back to me.. he gave me the following.. looks like Bosch are great too... after reading the laundry forum.. both lg and bosch front loader are good.. just that you need to use the HE detergents or you'll end up with all sorts of problem.. thanks for the help..

Consumer report washing review...

WASHING MACHINES:
For a competent, inexpensive top-loader:
? Whirlpool WTW5540S[W] , $400
? Admiral AAV7000[W] (Home Depot) , $300

Such prices won't get you Energy Star certification
or, generally, as much energy efficiency as you might
want. What you do get are two choices that we judged
good or better across most of our tests. (At average
energy prices and typical washing routines, the
Whirlpool should cost about $1,900 to run for 12
years, including the initial purchase price; the
Admiral, $2,400.) The Admiral was also noisier and
less roomy than the Whirlpool. Matching Dryers:
Whirlpool WED5500S
Gas:WGD5500S[ ]; Admiral
ADE7005A[W] (Home Depot) Gas:ADG7005A[ ] (Home Depot)

For better performance and efficiency:

? Bosch Nexxt 500 Series WFMC3301UC , $1100
? Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P[W] , $1000
? LG WM0642H[W] , $1000

These three front-loaders scored very good for washing
and were reasonably quiet; only the Whirlpool is
stackable. All three models comply with 2007 Energy
Star standards, though the Bosch is the most
energy-efficient. It also conserved water well, but it
had a smaller capacity. For long-term costs, we
compared this Whirlpool (almost $2,800) and the Bosch
($2,300), which would cost slightly less than the
Admiral AAV7000[W] over 12 years. Matching Dryer:
Bosch Nexxt WTMC3300US

DRYERS
A top performer at a moderate price:

? Kenmore (Sears) Elite 6697[2] , $570, CR Best Buy

This dryer scored excellent overall and cost hundreds
less than most other models near the top of the
Ratings. It does lack some frills, such as custom
programming, a stainless-steel drum, and a reversible
door. (Its door is drop-down style.)
Nearly as good for less:

? Kenmore (Sears) Elite 6692[2] , $500, CR Best Buy
? Maytag MDE4806AY[W] , $400, CR Best Buy

These two dryers scored a notch lower for drying than
the Kenmore (Sears) Elite 6697[2] did, but they offer
ample capacity and are relatively quiet. Neither have
custom programs, a stainless-steel drum, or electronic
controls. Both also dried delicates more than we would
have liked.

Would rather a whirlpool, kenmore or GE, Bosch are nice but heard their low end units aren't that nice and they are expensive.

Front loaders, FTW. Even better if they have digital controls so you don't have to select water level. You don't need to use HE detergent either, I use 1/2 the amount of regular detergent. I don't think brands matter too much at the higher end, but at the low end I would stick with "value" lines.

Laundry Forum at GardenWeb.com

Wow... that site sucks. I want a general idea about levels within brands, general W/D trends, and general price points. Instead I have to read for hours to get info about minute differences between specific models and (what seems to me) tangential information.
