Apple is a bit of an overrated brand, although I think that their products are generally high-quality.

For flashlights and illumination products, Surefire. More expensive than everything else in the market.
Some people say they're worth it though.
Surefire isn't overrated.
If you want to say they are overpriced, then maybe. I wouldn't say so though, because they have the warranty and quality behind them. I will say you can get cheaper flashlights that put out as much in terms of lumens. The difference though, is in quality. I'd put my Surefire's up against a Fenix (or any other brand for that matter) any day.
Have you ever owned a Surefire?

I carry a Surefire G2 LED every day and have a X300 mounted to my HK45 pistol so... yeah lol

Hennessy. Don't get me wrong, their upper end stuff is mighty tasty, but at the pricepoint of their VS, VSOP or XO there are many, many superior offerings from smaller houses.

In the same way, is Remy Martin, Courvoisier, Martell, and Hine all in the same club?
While I agree that these things are both tasty and expensive, I think that cognac in general is priced according to the supposed class of liquor it is rather than being classified in a price/performance type category that so many other things are.
For example, hard to tell if all of the XOs are good price/performance when they all cost about the same.
Now, as for single malt scotches, I would have to say that Macallan is overpriced for what you get, especially the 12 and 15 years. There are so many other highland single malts to choose.

I don't know. I think the price of an expensive scotch or cognac reflects the fact that they need to be properly aged for a long period of time. Anything that you've got to properly cellar in oak casks for 150 years is going to command a hefty price premium simply based on the sheer longevity and effort to get multiple generations of people to continue aging this liquid for some future gain they will never see. If it takes more time and effort to produce, it's going to cost more. I can respect that distinction. Whether or not you like the finished product is a matter of taste, but just because cognac is a liquor doesn't mean it should be compared to something cheap like rum (for example). It's like comparing minivans and sports cars; yes, they're both automobiles, but they perform different functions and cater to completely different markets.
Monster Cables, on the other hand, do the exact same thing as a $2.00 cable from Monoprice, they just have a ridiculous markup, so the comparison is more sensible. But electronics is a market where price/performance ratio is easily quantifiable. How do you quantify price/performance when judging a 100 year old cognac in comparison to bathtub gin?

One way would be to look at overall alcohol content, or the "drunkenness per dollar" ratio.

HK is another brand many people would consider overpriced. Though they're not really overrated. They are in fact good guns, they're just more expensive than they really ought to be.

I doubt anyone sees it as the top of the line, most people probably think the best whiskey is Jack Daniels and wouldn't know the difference between it and whisky.
Besides, JW offers a great price to quality ratio with red & black labels. Sometimes I want a buzz, and guzzling a good single-malt is almost as much of a travesty as guzzling rot-gut plastic-bottle crap.

Haven't had The Glenlivet Nadurra lately? That will get you a quick buzz
In the realm of Bourbons, Bookers will also get you a quick buzz (while not tasting like ass).

As for Nadurra, I bought a bottle of it. It's just too strong for me. I had to water it down, which means I paid $45 for a bottle of Scotch that I wasn't drinking for the taste.
I think if you're looking for a good buzz for the money, Scotch isn't the way to go. Get a cheaper bourbon and mix it, or vodka.
