Just as an FYI, the church part means absolutely jack-shit. But I think you could be trusted with money, so screw him.

Aren't they out of like, 2400 now?

if he is a senior in college and took the old test or if he is only counting math and critical reading (some people claim that colleges don't care very much about the writing section), then it'd be 1400/1600.

Actually almost nothing but the drawer totals means anything as far as being trustworthy with money. In fact, because you let them walk all over you is probably part of why he doesn't trust you with money.

And really, do you think the manager even knows you don't have a criminal record, what you got on your SATs that you go to church or any of that?

Movie theaters have pretty high employee turnover rates from what I've seen, and if you're going to college and everything he might think you're not gonna be sticking around and so would rather someone who has a possibility of it being their main job.

I would say that the manager probably just doesn't like you for whatever reason, so I wouldn't let it bother you. If it does, then just find another job and don't sweat stupid stuff like that.

You should steal the bosses wallet then return it several days later and say you found it. That'll show you can be trusted not to spend his money.

Didn't you get mugged twice delivering pizzas? Maybe he's a afraid you'll bring that black cloud over to the theatre and the place will get held up at gun point.

Yes. Talk to him about it, completely professionally, and approach it 100% as feedback for yourself for professional development, self-improvement and a mid or exit interview. Ask him about where he thinks you went wrong, and be prepared to actually listen and not fight over it. Your approach in this should be to learn about what he thinks and to learn about how you can improve matters, perhaps regarding your presentation, perhaps more about behavior, the impression your requests have made, or something else. Perhaps you'll just learn that his judgment is weak and leave it at that, but perhaps not.

This could be a worthwhile exercise in many ways. Alternatively you could call it a day and perhaps wonder by yourself about what went wrong for some time. It's much better though to discuss it directly with the other party, provided you don't mess it up into some sort of silly fight about how you deserved to be working the box office -- whether or not you think you deserved it is pretty much beside the point -- the employer can place you wherever he wants you the most, and the most you can do is to come to better understanding.

At my job at the movie theater, I have been asking for a couple months to start getting Box Office shifts (sell tickets at front door) instead of/along with concession (selling food) or usher (cleaning/ripping tickets) shifts

The manager/person who makes the schedule has yet to give me any and it bothers me because Box Office is the easiest job and I would have really liked to do it

I mentioned this to another coworker and he told me that the manager told him "Joe isn't someone I trust with money"

what the fuck?

I go to church every Sunday, I have never been arrested, I got 1400 on my SATs, I go to a good university, I have a second job and sufficient income, I live in the suburbs with my strict parents (when not at college), I have NEVER gotten in trouble at work for anything, I sacrifice a lot for the job (will go in if someone else cannot make it at instant notice, stay later than I am supposed to sometimes, get sent home early if they want, etc), and he thinks I am not trustworthy?

It would be so easy for me to be dishonest at this job. One cancelled order an hour would triple my pay and there would be 0 way for me to be caught. And yet I have never done anything like that, however easy it may be... just because of my personal morals
One time I accidently gave someone an extra candy box and felt bad and told my manager. No one would even have noticed.
My drawer has never been over or under more than $2. Never.

Should I say something to this manager? I put in my two weeks notice almost two weeks ago because I am leaving for college. I do not plan to return to this job next summer or during winter break. Would that be too unprofessional? That statement really bothers me, though...

tell the boss to go screw himself......if the boss asks how tell the boss to drop his pants and bend over...then proceed to do it for him..muahahahaaa

I'd say 1400 is pretty high...
I did better than 95% of the country in math and better than 92% in reading.

Good to hear because tattoos = thief.
A lot of people will make assumptions if a person has tattoos. Whether or not these assumptions are true or even true more percent of the time than not is not what matters or up for me to say right now.
There is a chance someone might find someone untrustworthy for having tattoos. Therefore, I said I do not have any, so people don't consider that a potential reason he doesn't trust me. No one under my conditions will find someone without any tattoos untrustworthy for that reason.

Maybe it's because you already put in your two weeks.
I had asked for these shifts 3 months ago

Whoop dee f'ing doo.
Find me some numbers that show crime rates for people that do not attend mass weekly and numbers for people that do. The numbers for the people non-church goers will be higher, there is no doubt in my mind.

If you were buying screws, you would buy the screws that work 95% of the time rather than the ones 90% of the time even if the 90% ones might still all work correctly.
