I notice 6 people have voted for "the Jews." Idiots.
No, they are not idiots, just extremely racist and potentially violent.

Personally, I like to respond in kind. It's what makes this place the fun destination that it is.I love how the usual suspects are in here blaming each other.
ZOMG LIBERALS BOMBED BOSTON!
NO STUPID CONSERVATIVES BOMBED BOSTON!
Can't you guys put the cat-fight on hold for 5 minutes?
Put enough people in power that think like you do and the authorities will have nothing to do except sit and wait for someone to call and confess.First guess (and only guess): domestic terrorism.
Although, NBC has already reported that a Saudi National (some kid here on a student VISA) was detained/ethnically profiled (my opinion). People said they saw him running away from the blast, "acting suspiciously". He was on fire and had to be hospitalized like everyone else....yet, they ransacked his apartment and questioned him for hours. Of course, running away from a bomb blast while Muslim means you're suspicious.
We're back to post 9/11 days...
I wonder when they will examine the unexplored device they found. I am sure somebody made these explosives in their home.
who is worse: the person who guesses that in the absence of anything else this was a Muslim (recognizing some obvious precedent) or the one who assumes that the police have spent hours ransacking a guy's apartment simply because he has brown skin and not because just maybe he was involved?First guess (and only guess): domestic terrorism.

"Shahzad reportedly had four other high-profile targets in the New York area he was planning to attack if his first attack had been successful.[89] On his list were Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Terminal, the World Financial Center (just across from Ground Zero) and the Connecticut-based company that manufactures helicopters for the U.S. military, Sikorsky.[89]"
I've never heard of Islamic terrorists targeting a city OTHER than NYC (okay, DC) in the USA. They've never attacked say, Philadelphia, Boston (before this), Miami, LA, Chicago, etc. NYC is the global finance capital of the world.
Islamic terrorists do blow up buses all the time in Israel. And they did attack the London subway. Still...this just doesn't feel like it's Islamic. Boston is just not that high profile a city to get the attention of Islamic terrorists. They tend to attack the gleaming beacons of the West, not sporting events like the Boston marathon.
On the other hand, we have a history of right-wingers attacking sporting events. Eric Rudolph attacked the Atlanta Olympics.
Also, Islamic attacks tend to claim responsibility soon after. Meanwhile, right-wing attacks they don't announce anything. THey sneak away. McVeigh and Rudolph behaved in this way.
Inspire magazine has serialised the writings of Abu Musab Al-Suri, calling on American Muslims to launch lone wolf attacks against places where large numbers of civilians gather, such as sporting events.
In an issue last year, he wrote: The type of attack, which repels states and topples governments, is mass slaughter of the population. This is done by targeting human crowds in order to inflict maximum human losses.
This is very easy since there are numerous such targets such as crowded sports arenas, annual social events, large international exhibitions, crowded marketplaces, sky-scrapers, crowded buildings etc."

Tuned into Fox News this morning to see how they are covering it. Their angle, blame brown people. They had a panel on asking why this was done and the answer was their same old infantile mentality argument, the terrorists hate our values and our freedom. (AKA it was the Mooooslims!)
We don't really know yet but if it turns out to be some McVeigh type will they stick to their propoganda?

Who do you think committed the Boston Bombing?

Anyone who has been here for any length of time knows full well that WhipperSnapper believes with all his heart that this was done by right-wing extremists. He masked his true thoughts with a bullshit poll because he knew he'd be called out on the carpet if he just created a thread blaming the people who in his eyes are responsible for everything bad in the universe.
Gun nuts are the dumbest, angriest people I've ever encountered on the internet.
As for not taking responsibility.. you're right, no one has come forward yet and there definitely is a record of right wing psychos attacking as sporting events as well. I just don't think right wingers are that oppressed enough to consider something like this. They have the tea party representing them and the 'pubs control the house. Why would they do this arbitrary act of bombing against a civilian population?

Ever read this board whenever guns are brought up? We have people claiming with all sincerity that like, freely allowing machine guns to be bought and sold won't result in massacres because "they're only useful for suppressing fire" And so anything short of machine gun freedom is government tyranny.
They probably feared that the Newtown families might actually push through gun legislation through both houses, so this bombing is to stop it.
And right-wingers definitely feel persecuted. Always.
Furthermore, the demographic which participates in the Boston marathon are the urban elite that the survivalists loathe the most.
The police had no other reason to search his place other than witnesses saying they saw they guy running after the blast. The article is there, you're free to read it.
People saw him running away after the bomb went off..but also said that his clothing was on fire, so he could have been a victim like everyone else.
I just find it interesting that on practically every news site that is covering this bombing, there are hundreds of Americans making xenophobic statements about Muslims and who absolutely did it. It doesn't surprise me that this guy was suspect number #1
So you know what? Judging from the attitudes of Americans about Muslims post 9/11 and now after this event...I would say wholeheartedly that it is highly likely that he was ethnically profiled. I think Geosurface would say that is um.....natural.
Oh, you're so right...because the cops always catch the right guy the first time And they said the mooslims did it back in Oklahoma City. HA
Now you've taken your argument to douche levels. Congrats.
And all you have is name-calling. Probably because you can't actually refute the facts.
