I, like you, predicted Islamic terrorists and yes, it appears that's what this was. (You also predicted this act was committed by Middle Eastern terrorists, which it was not.) It is still not entirely clear that their motivation related to Islam but it seems likely that it did.

I'm not sure why you find it necessary to gloat this way. On the other hand, I suppose there was a lot of gloating after you lost your absurd bet that Christine O'Donnell would win her election, after your prediction that Rick Perry would be President was proven to be nearly as stupid, and after you lost your recent bet on the Presidential election. While you (and many others) were probably right about the genesis of the Boston Marathon bombing, you have been catastrophically wrong on many occasions when you were just as confident.

I didn't *want* it to be RWE's. I simply thought that they were the most logical suspects at the time.

I also simply haven't familiarized myself that much with Islamic terrorism. The last successful attack on the US mainland came in 2001, over ten years ago. Meanwhile, the gun debate has been much much much more prominent, and I've paid much more attention to it than most issues. Even Nidal Hasan, but that was sort of targeted and not against civilians.

The last *successful* attack on a US sporting event was by a RWE, Eric Rudolph. Faisal Shahzad did try to hit Times Square, but he failed, so I didn't pay that much attention. now that I've read up on it, he was far more advanced than I had realized, and he did come close to causing dozens of deaths.

But yes, my perspective has changed and I'll probably be quicker to suspect Islamic militants in the future.

Also, who here suspected that white assimilated Muslims would have carried out the attack?

He's doing a good enough job smearing himself. They all are. There are very few that are standing up and saying where safety is promised, freedom is lost. When people on the inside with all the power shrink the base, liberty and growth are diminished. The private sector needs step up in a big way, too. If you are hiring an adult then you need to pay them like an adult even at the bottom, because it all comes back around. Letting it sit on top makes the bottom a drain on everyone.

So it appears with today's reports that the younger brother tried to kill himself, which most of us assumed he would do (I expressed surprise yesterday that he hadn't). Apparently he can't even shoot himself to death as he put it in his mouth and instead of blowing out his brains got the back of his throat (?). At least that's what I infer from something I saw on bbc.co.uk
