After keeping away from television for awhile, it's plain to see the mass hypnosis and propoganda going on. For example, a recent abc drama had "a group of anti-zionists who were going to blow up schools". Jack Bauer tortures people on a regular basis. Posse Comitatus is declared null and void in another. Much of this crap is to indoctrinate and ease you into a coming police state where torture and stripping of your rights is the norm.

Think I'm kidding about television shows being influenced like this? Dean Haglund was an actor in The Lone Gunmen. Haglund stated that after years of writing the X-files, the FBI and NASA would approach Chris Carter with plots for stories. He also discussed the fact that the CIA have since the 80's hired informants posing as psychics to attend Hollywood parties and report back to the CIA on general trends and talking points.

Anyhow, there was an episode of Boston Legal recently, seemingly not imbued with propoganda, in which Spader's character makes his summation. In it he discusses torture, war on false pretenses, domestic spying, restrictions on protesting and other constitutional freedoms, and other fun topics. Some of the points are arguable, such as "there are no demonstrations on college campuses" (it's more likely that there are such protests and this doesn't get covered by the corporate media.)

Regardless of the flaws, it's a beautiful, empassioned speech -- unfortunately it's from a fictional tv character.
These are ideas that SHOULD be coming out of our politicians and mass media

I think I've heard the word "revolution" in about 20 commercials this past hour during the NCAA's basketball tourney.

College Students are too concerned about gettin' drunk, gettin' high, and gettin' laid to be worried about politics and the war. There aren't any sizable protests on college campuses, and the ones that happen are typically extremely small and are made up of the fringe left.

As for Boston Legal, Boston Legal and particularly Spader's character rants/vents on various liberal political ideals on a weekly basis. Shatners character rants/vents on conservative ideals on a semi-weekly basis and is always made out to look like a buffon.

Watch out. Such a simple thing will retroactively become a clear case of copyright infringement, and it will begin carrying jail time--not to mention the thought crimes you are committing right now.

24 is becoming pretty blatently obvious. It still is a good show however its becoming the same shtick over and over with a different angle. Did anyone see the last episode with the toxic gas and jack just happens to get to that spot and there is a roll of "duck tape" which he uses to seal off the sintox gas. lol.... And yeah the way they torture people for the sake of national security every other episode is getting tiresome. And there has to be at least one shot of FOX NEWS in the background every 5 episodes or something.

Fox produces the show. Whenever they need to show a news channel, obviously they will choose Fox News.

BL's mantra "Denny Crane, the names Denny Crane"

Denny Crane
Denny Crane
Denny Crane
Denny Crane
Denny Crane
Denny Crane
Denny Crane

The show is one of my favorites, William Shatner is actually quite comical in it. I thought Spaders's closing arguement was rather lame, and he LOST that case

GIGO Principle--Garbage In, Garbage Out. also related to the statement by Marshall McLuen(sp, way off), "The Medium is the Message". What's on TV *is* reality, because that's what we experience. Mind you, not everyone "experiences" this, but those who watch it do. That doesn't mean they can't differentiate between fictional events on TV and what occured in their own life, not that that's the main concern.

It's the subtle or even subliminal messages, intended or not, which are most effective at changing one's perception. I really don't think there are many who'd purposely use subliminal methods intentionally, they exist quite well on their own. Subliminal effects occur whenever multiple methods are used for dramatic effect. With TV/Film the obvious first effect is the Visual aspect, then there's the Audio. Within Audio you have Dialogue, Special Effect sounds, but also the Music. Music is certainly the most Subliminal effect, effectively used in many situations to induce Tears, Laughter, or Fear into the audince, as well as other emotional responses. The effectiveness of Music is so great that many years later just hearing the music can bring back all sorts of the original experience, sometimes without even being consciously aware what that experience was.

To clarify, I don't think what I just said is part of some vast conspiracy or the Devil trying to destroy Humanity. What it is though is Pollution of the Mind/Soul. Too much will poison your mind, in moderation you'll likely be ok. That's my perception of it anyway.
