Regardless, really tragic. I had to text my brother to make sure he wasn't there. He runs marathons and his gf works in Boston, she works somewhere that puts her in contact with a lot of the runners. She's okay, thankfully. Brother wasn't there, thankfully.

Immediate aftermath? I STILL see people making claims that were proven false months ago. Hell this thread has someone who made at least one claim that was proven wrong for the last 70 years.

If it was an anti-government/anti-tax group, they would have attacked a government office, not civilians.

This is not an anti-government explosion, it is an act of terrorism.

While technically possible I don't think it's likely. The Tea Party has a lot of crazies for sure, but they haven't ever seemed like they'd be THIS crazy. Being Tax Day could just be a coincidence. The Boston Marathon is a prime target for an attack simply because it's a large gathering in a public place where it's difficult to have strong security. Very similar to the Atlanta Olympic Park bombing.
