Sorry about the confusion.....but about nursing. Great job in may respects, not so great in others. And for a guy in nursing, you get to feel what gender discrimination is all about as most of the women in nursing are very resentful of men in "their" profession, esp. the older nurses who feel men cannot do the job as well and are invading their territory. On the other hand, a lot of MD's view men in nursing as more capable and intelligent than the women....had more than one fellow nurse, female, ask me to talk with the attending MD about a problem as the men tended to get what was being asked for vs. being blown off by the MD....happened all the time in the various ICU's I worked, open heart/cardiovascular surg. ICU mostly, but also in surg./med. ICU's. Burn units, neonatal and neuro ICU's had less resistance to the women interacting with the MD's.

As far as the work....can be fulfilling, but you will clean up poop, piss, vomit, and anything else that can come out of a human being. Can be rather disgusting, actually.
