Haters, all of you. I'll take $200 jeans over a $400gfx card most days. I used to like 7fams but have moved to Japan blues

I just don't understand. Why not just get Levi's for $40? Denim is denim? You're paying all that money for a name, and nothing more.

That's like saying Steak is Steak so eatting Chuck = Rib Eye. Levi's are stiff and crappy feeling. The jeans I wear are so soft they feel more like cotton than denim. While I wouldn't wear $400 jeans, I do get ones that cost considerably more than Levi's, and imho they're worth every penny. Even the relaxed fit Levi's just don't feel comfortable. Are they worth the money? That's a matter of opinion, but the jeans I have on right now, there's not a pair of levi's that are even close to feeling the same when worn. I paid all this money for comfort, just like I paid a lot more for the tires on my car so I can have a smoother ride. Some people don't care about shit like comfortable jeans and a smooth ride though *shrug* A good indication you're wearing shit jeans is if you bought them at a store that also has a supermarket (Target, K-Mart, Walmart etc) The crazy thing about Levi is, you can find styles that run 70-80 bucks. I have 1 pair of 550 "relaxed fit" I got with a gift card, they were $72 and they're utter shit.

One big difference is how the denim's treated, I will say Levi's probably do hold up a lot better than the brand I buy, but I'll take comfort over durability any day of the week. And a lot of females look at a dude who wears Levi's like the dude who wears Star Wars, and other graphic tee's with non sense on them. Very few things say "I don't really give a fuck about my appearance" like wearing jeans you bought at a mega store.

Wrangler's are even worse than Levi's, as as a few other cheap shit brands.

there's a big difference in style and fit, it's completely subjective of course, but denim isn't just denim.

do these jeans work well for someone who weighs about 300 lb? i am considering revamping my style and though it seems sickeningly expensive, i may splurge for such a garment if they would give me more confidence. (seriously any confidence > 0 would be an improvement)

If you're being serious, no they will not help you. Getting in shape will make you feel much better.

You will look like a fat guy in expensive jeans I'm afraid.

Nice jeans shape your ass. well, if you're female. Then you'd be a 300 lb woman with pants that hold your ass into a shape WAAAAY better than saggy.

But that 300 lb butt is still there, so while held up, it's all still there!

It's up to you to determine what's good value for you. You probably would look better in designer jeans. Confidence is an attitude. And attitude is a decision you make. You don't need the jeans to look good, but if you like the way they make you look, buy them.

(7 for all mankind is a pretty big step from Wrangler or Levi's. There are many options available for you to make your value decision)

Didn't notice the thread was from '10. Surprised any of the links worked.
OP, still have the jeans?
Punch me in the forehead if I ever buy jeans that have to be dry cleaned.
But OP is buying US made, more power to him. Rock on.

Jesus Christ, defend over paying for denim all you want, but try to keep the ridiculous hyperbole fairy tales to yourself.

"A lot of females look at a dude in Levis....doesn't give a shit about appearance". Stop with the bullshit. Someone has very little experience with "females", methinks.

Exactly -- we all know that women only care about what you drive and if you lift, bro.

Agree entirely, this is why I purchase 7 for all mankind leather logos and sew them onto my Lee's, Levi's, and Wranglers. Works like a charm.

fwiw, you can get some Levi's still made in the USA and i'm all for that. Its sad to see such a prestigious brand go to crap for all of their mass produced items so quickly.

Sounds like some people in here need to convince themselves other jeans are uncomfortable since they don't buy them. I don't get it.

That said, if they put a price tag of $1,000 on their jeans, does that make them *worth* $1,000 each? No. Obviously they needed that 40% "discount" for a reason... get a clue (and yes I realize this thread is from 2010).

F that, hell I prefer going to Goodwill and ebay for used jeans. Already broke in, I do not care about brands. My most expensive jeans are some Lucky's I got at Goodwill for 5 bucks and some American Eagle off ebay

Actually, who spends just $100-200 on jeans if they care about their appearance? Custom tailored is where it's at. Why wear something that was designed for another person's body instead of your own perfect figure?

While you're at it, you wouldn't want to leave the bar in something as pedestrian as a Ford or a Toyota. There are probably several BMWs and Mercedes in the parking lot too, so you'd better go for broke and get a Lambo.

If whether or not a someone is interested in you based on the jeans you're wearing, you're doing it wrong.
