I've worn suits on occasion and I can assure you a proper suit is far more comfortable than a pair of tight-ass jeans. I wish I had a job that required me to wears suits all day.

no you dont, tying a tie every morning is a total bitch. i still cant get the lgenth perfect everytime cuz diff brands have diff cuts

I wear a dress uniform on occasion and am reasonably proficient in tying ties (which reminds me, I once tied 24 horrible ties in 15 or so minutes, but that's a different story).

I don't mind it, and I love wearing suits.

Each time you get a new a tie figure out where the ends need to be and put a tiny safety pin on the back of the fat end to show where the skinny end needs to line up. You'll never screw up that tie again.

I haven't worn a tie in about 30 years. I imagine I can avoid them for the rest of my life.

You'd be surprised how fast you get used to it. At this point, I know where the knot goes on every one of my ties. When I get a new one, I might need to do it twice the first wear.

I don't mind ties at all. Jackets in the summer are kind of a pain in the ass with how humid it gets out here though.

I need to get myself a seersucker suit.

That's crazy that $120/pair is the "sale" price. I normally pay $30-$40 for mine when I can actually find a long enough inseam.

Tie your tie? Every morning? I have a tie, yes a real one. I last tied it in 1989 (it comes in and out of fashion more often than I actually wear it). I left it tied and simply loosen it up and slip it over my head to remove and re-tighten it if I have to wear it. If you see me wearing a tie, rest assured there is a corpse in the room.

Do you work in a mausoleum?

I will admit one thing about skinny jeans. It's a heck of a task to get your money/credit card out of your front pocket when at the Taco Bell drive through. You have to lift your mid section way in the air and straighten out your body so you can dig into your front pocket.

You can only imagine the commotion this causes.

wouldnt the safety pin get in the way when you tie it? or are you saying marking the back with a safety pin hole

i been doing this for a couple of years and it still takes me maybe 1.5 tries avg per morning

I tie my tie every morning without even really looking anymore. It's such a habit it almost ties itself.

If you decide you want kids one day, you'll have to put the skinny jeans aside for a couple weeks.

Pretty much. About half the time, my tie goes on at work from the stash in my office - especially if its too hot to walk to the train with a tie on. Or if I forget. At that point, I'm putting that thing on blind while I'm walking down the hallway.

I swear there's a category of professional skills for that.

Different strokes for different folks. Would you happen to be Asian by any chance JM? Only reason I ask is that different cultures tend to have different spending habits. A lot of Asians like to save every penny they can when it comes to all their other purchases but don't mind splurging big on food and clothes.

Personally I'd just buy close to the cheapest shit I could find when it comes to cloths. I like spending my money on tech toys and gadgets and save on everything else.

i assume youre talking about middle aged asians.

the new generation of ABC/CBCs dont understand the concept of saving. problem with rich parents.

True.

Quick story on that. I sold a G73 laptop to this kid who only spoke Mandrin (mine was just barely good enough to converse with him). He also bought a set of logitech gaming headphones and mouse. Together it all came to just over $2000. About a week and 1/2 later the kid comes back and wants to return it all because someone turned him onto getting an Alienware laptop. I told the kid it would be a 15% restocking fee and that the laptop he was getting was just as good if not better than spending more for an Alienware one but he didn't care. He wasn't really happy about paying the 15% speosit but damn he went through with it and got the Alienware one I guess. That was about $275 just for returning it!? I could tell from the way he spent the money and his age (probably 19) that it was most likely mom and dads money.
