It's supposed to be a Dell made battery but I don't think it is. Is there anyway to check? It says Dell on the battery and other than the ink being darker than normal it looks like a Dell battery label. The vender is listed as SMP(when I check in ubuntu power management), my other Dell laptop batteries all come up as Sony or Sanyo, with the exception of a generic battery I have which says SMP.
The reason I'm wondering is I have another generic battery that has the same vender name(no dell logo on this one it's obviously generic). It also never stops blinking the charge light and which is an issue I had with the generic battery.
I got it from an Ebay store with largely positive feedback primarily selling batteries.
Does anyone know is SMP is a valid maker of Dell batteries, or if Dell has a way to verify a battery was made by them?
