While I don't think I'm that old yet, one thing I've learned so far in life is to not waste too much energy on the small things. Too many unknowns to get worked up over, especially when estimating the MAX loss you might take due to this issue (I don't think it would be all that high...).

If you like the car, just move on and not waste the energy. When you sit there and question whether or not you should seek compensation... it's a good indicator that it's just better to move on. Wait for that truly big thing that comes along that you will have to deal with.

Fair enough, but say the cover got torn by getting hooked on some rebar sticking out of a parking curb. A simple bumper replacement will cost at least ~$1000, the cover alone is over $400. Many people would claim that instead of going out of pocket, but it doesn't mean the vehicle is worth so much less now.

that's about what mine ran when it got torn off by a piece of rebar sticking out of a parking stop. premises liability carrier covered it.

congrats on the car, i personally like it a lot. I hope they make a second generation of that car.

What shows up in the carfax? If the accident doesnt' show up in carfax, you may be ok on resale values, as shady as that might sound.

Just wanted to update. I deleted the original posting but you all can probably figure out by reading the thread.

Got the collision report, over $8,000 worth of body work done to the vehicle. A bit pissed. I hired some help with this.
