Bought a Wii today.

If you really love games, there's no way you'll get tired of the Wii. Just like you wouldn't get tired of your XBox or PC or whatever.

The library of games for the Wii is kinda disappointing. Whats the next big game that people will really want?
My kids play Mario Kart once every few days and thats about it.

its good if you have friends over (lots of friends) and want to play mini games that dont require too much effort and are fun. (all mario games (cart, olympics, etc, etc) and other stuff (rayman, wii sports) are good short games).

To tell you the truth, I play my Wii more than my PS3. I have a lot of fun playing it, even by myself.

However, my roommates and I love battling it out with Mario Kart Wii, and I enjoy playing Tiger Woods '09 by myself.

However, the Wii truly shines when you have a whole group over to play -- even Wii Sports is good fun for a large group.

so much wii hate in these forums. but yes, the good to bad ratio of games is not good. It has the best controls for an FPS IMO next to a mouse/kb, but no one wants to spend the time to develop for it because of the graphics. sigh. here's hoping conduit doesn't disappoint.

Yes, humiliation works great with Wii I laugh a lot, both at myself and at other people, when we are playing wii.

One thing does upset me about will though. It is far too easy to reset. My son(almost 5 now) has done it a few times, killing off my saved games. Saving grace is I actually backed up a few on the sd card. Still lost like 6 month of playtime invested though.

For the most part I agree with the bashers. We've had a wii for a year and it doesn't get a lot of play time. It gets more than my PS3 though. I bought it back in April and it's been plugged in for like 10 hours. Xbox 360 + Rock Band 2 is our party game.

We did just recently get outdoor adventures for Wii and it has been getting at least equal play time with the 360 since then.

I like my Wii and to those who say there isn't titles that are good out, those are the very people not looking or keeping their eyes and mind closed and only looking at the title after title of Ubisoft's Imaginez stuff and the like.

The Wii does what I want it to do and that is give me a good game experience that I can't get on other consoles. It can be as casual (non time consuming) as I want it or it can be like the typical hardcore (time consuming blitz) that I once had upon initially getting it with Super Mario Galaxy and No More Heroes - playing it straight until the end.

A recent game I got, We Cheer , gives a decent shoulder/arm workout with wrist weights and I sure hope there is a sequel/spiritual sequel or another title like it. I am glad I didn't blindly trust "full time reviewers" as this game was rated horribly on just about every "professional" review site out there. If Konami or Bandai Namco gets this, the next DDR for the Wii better have two Wiimotes AND steps on the pad.

For traditional atmospheric genres, I sure as hell expect duel wielding to be considered and explored.

I like the Wii when I go to a friends house with a lot of people there, but even then I grab the gamecube controller for a lot of the games (mario kart, smash bros. etc). I considered buying one, but instead I got a PS3 and I couldn't be happier. It's not a bad console, I just don't think I'd play it enough.

Wii mario kart is fantastic.
The best part about wii is when you get a group of people together and play.

I basically gave up on any new games after I was hardcore into UT for PC and finally got out of that scene.
Super realistic graphics and whatnot just don't do it for me. I'm not a hardcore gamer so I really dig on simple games with simple graphics.

I still love my Wii - got it the day of release and play Wii Sports every weekend still.
I will admit I've been dissapointed by almost everything else I've gotten. Link, Metroid, Mario Kart have been only titles I enjoyed but even those were old after a while. Raving Rabbids games are fun but only when you have more than 1 player. I even did the soft mod and played a few demos and never found anything interesting. Just got Wii Fit and seems like another decent title since it has the balance board that is kinda neat.

You are pretty blind then because people that enjoy the wii don't game that often. I've seen several in this thread.

Nothing wrong with that, it's just not on the same level as the 360 or PS3. It's clearly working to make Nintendo $$$.
