Did you check to see if the previous owner off-roaded it and cause the body to bulge/tear?

I love mine. Takes awhile to learn to deal with the reduced visibility. The rear proximety sensor comes in real handy at first. Around town mileage is not so great, I average about 15mpg, less in the winter with 4wd on, and just under 20mpg on the highway. The fjcruiserforums.com is a great place to see what alot of people are doing with theirs.
I like the FJ to look at, but I didn't like driving it. The same salesman that sold me my wife's Mazda 3s GT, took me out on a test drive with a manual one a few years back.
I drive too aggressively for it's limitations. It was a nice ride though if I had room for another vehicle and the time to maintain it.
You should talk to Guyver01 or something, he has a 2007 he bought new. Came up when he was telling me he paid cash for his NEW one, yet I am financing my USED 2006 M3...so he may be a bit off on everything needed. When I was looking at the FJ, it was a 1.99% loan they wanted to give me. I almost did the deal.

D:
HOLY CRAP!
caps.
It isn't a golf cart, what did you really expect?
Seems pretty darn good to me for an SUV. My wife's 2006 explorer with the 4 liter engine gets a combined 15.7 mpg.
Better MPG than a super car...
