Bought an Intel 510 and C300, have a Marvell 6gb port.. help decide..

I bought an Intel 510 120GB (285 shipped) and a Crucial C300 128 GB (199 shipped)

I have a i7 CPU on an older LGA1156 mobo with a Marvell 9128 Sata 6gb chip/port.

I have read a ton of confusing stuff.

First, I read that the Marvell 9128 on my motherboard sucks, and hardly gets decent speeds with newer SSDs. I have also read a few vague rumors about BSODs and data corruption. Should I just use my integrated intel 3gb ports?

I have also read strange benchmarks that show the Intel 510 as fast or faster than the C300 in real world benchmarks, but the C300 beats the Intel in some of the synthetics.

So... in light of the above, which drive should I send back and which should I keep?

PS, this is for moderate/heavy gaming, and general PC usage, with very light photoshop use.

Gaming PC, bought Intel 510 ($285) and C300 ($200), returning one, have a Marvell 9128 SATA chipset, worried about non-intel SATA ports, help?

For gaming, they'll both be fine. If you're doing any copying in the drive, then go for 510. Otherwise, go C300.

I think Anand's review of the C300 showed that the intel SATA2 ports were better then the Marvell Sata3, so I would just use the SATA2.

Either drive should be fine (and fast!). Also, if you ever upgrade to another motherboard with a good SATA3 interface, you get a free performance boost!
