Bought me a 2002 Acura RSX **PICS**

It's part of my master plan to get out of debt I swear. No more car payment for me. Going to drive/fix this car till the wheels fall off.

The only question I have is...they only give me one key/remote. I already called the Acura dealer and they want $130 for a new key/remote/programming.

Is there a cheaper alternative? I know they sell blank keys with immobilizer built in for cheap but how do I go about making it work/program it to work with my car?

Here you can get a remote for cheap. Programming is very easy. It is a very simple process that involves you to insert the key in the ignition a few times then pressing a button on the remote. I bought a remote from Midwest Keyless once and they include the instructions for your model and how to program it. Don't overpay at the dealer.

and ask your question there. they might be able to help you out better than we can here. my guess is if you can get the blank key online from a dealer, bring it to your local dealer and they may be willing to do it for you for cheaper.

Wow, the previous owner(s) really took care of the exterior. I have a 2004 and mine doesn't look nearly as good as that.

Lol, better you dont know, he has an 18 page thread of nonsense going. He wants to buy a car thats in a similar budget. But nobody can sway him from getting a civic that can't be had for that price.

Trouble is that's fine for the remote entry/alarm but its not programming the immobilizer chip in the key itself. Highly unlikely anyone other than a dealer can do that for you.
