Hatton got knocked the fvck out. That was a big left hook. He had lost like every round anyway except one anyway.

Hatton tried to charge mayweather the whole fight, but mayweather played the tactician, conserved his energy, threw less punches but landed more, and finally nailed hatton with some knockout blows in the 10th.
Hatton's style is very awkward for opponents since he charges with unlimited energy, but doesn't hit hard enough to affect a mayweather, and left himself open too much.
It was a matter of time.

Mayweather relies way to much on turning around, for which he did through the first 70% of the fight.

hardly......lots of hype, but it was boring to watch, comparatively
Mayweather has lots of speed, power and ability, too bad he can't provide a good entertaining boxing match

No, he hits hard when he lands a clean punch, he knocked Mayweather off his balance in the 1st. The problem is, he couldnt land to many clean punches on Mayweather because of Mayweathers habit of turning around.

Great technical boxers rarely give much of an entertaining fight...because they use technique....not brawling.

The agressor typically loses in boxing, but Hatton stood no chance otherwise.

Hatton won 3 of the rounds. Hatton was done after the 7th.

Mayweather is the best pound for pound fighter in the world. I know the guy is a cocky and arrogant prick, but damn he backs it up in a big way. I've yet to see someone even cut the guy, he's invincible.

See I cannot give him that distinction. He fights guys who are either worn out or smaller and coming up in weight.
Why does he decide now to take a two year vacation? Because if he didn't take one, he would have to fight Miguel Cotto and get his ass handed to him. He carefully picks opponents and for that very reason, he does not deserve the P4P #1 distinction.

I would tend to agree with you. I'm not sure that Cotto would hand his ass to him...but i have no doubt Cotto would probably beat him. Floyd is very careful about who he fights.

Cotto is brutal in the ring. I can understand why Mayweather would avoid him, but don't call yourself #1 while doing so. I tip my hat to Mayweather though as he kept his cool in this fight, and that is hard to do against hatton.
I have boxing fever again though. I cannot wait for the Pavlik vs Taylor rematch. Fight of the year 2007 could be fight of the year 2008 also.
