here is some flame for you.
just because you can't set up your network correctly doesn't make linksys crap. On that encouraging others to boycott a company because of your ignorace is irresponsible and idiotic. why don't you ask a quality question that may solve your problem before comming out and cramming your "crap" down onto this forum.
upgrade your firmware, make sure remote administration is turned off, and for god sakes change your default password. If you can't figure out how to do this feel free to ask. Yes with newer firmware (earlier releases) I ran into the same problem. upgrading the firmware and making sure that you have enough ventilation around your router makes this go away. (yes your router needs air too.)
-set it to detect IP automatically
-click on DHCP at the top
What are you doing with the old linksys router now since it does not work? If you want to get rid of it I'll take it and make it work.
I've had my Linksys BEFSR41 router for well over a year and I've had zero problems with it

You know, if you have a dynamic IP and are trying to set it as a static, that could be why you are getting disconnected...
i have the linksys 4 port router (the 3rd one) to be exact and every one i've had i hate. i've had nothing but bad luck w/ them so i can understand where Chooco is coming from.

I went to Fry's store today and I saw there are so many Linksys being returned to the shelf with label on it so it seems that the product is not very good one.
