Haha, I don't really have any particular map of choice, I just play on the old fart server (low ping, no lag - good for a ranked server) and they seem to have sharqi on rotation for 6 out of 8 by the looks of it.

Medic is my kit of choice, I really only played the sniper when I was first learning the maps - I sort of like to sit behind the action and watch both teams and how they do things. I prefer medic because I can charge, mow people down and then duck behind a building and heal myself.. and because I am usually a squad leader (and a pretty good one at that I'd like to think) I stay behind the action, keep my squad up, revive revive revive, and basically enjoy serving as a mobile HQ for rushes and flag captures.

Aside from those two main kits I love to fly the choppers, and have been known to suicide to an anti-tank kit immediately upon seeing a tank enter my spawn area.

Love the game, once I've gotten over even worrying about getting promoted to corporal, i've played a lot better.
It didn't help that I started learning on ranked servers, so now I am digging myself out of a hole, but I am usually at least top 5 every round.

I like to play support but it is rare to find a squad that works together that can benefit from the unlimited ammo I can provide. When I do find a group that sticks together, we are usually pretty powerful, especially with a medic and an AT guy.

If anyone wants to play for real, let me know I'll add you on my non-existant buddy list.

Squad play has been hard for me also. It's a double edged sword. To be effective in BF you need to be able to change tactics very quickly. Squad behavior is the exact opposite. You need to build trust as a squad leader so people will want to follow you. For example if I fly a Blackhawk people will join my team and everyone will fall into a role... but if we're getting gunned down too much I won't fly, the squad needs to react and fill different roles then. It's hard to keep constant forward momentum when you have to change the squad dynamic so quickly.

As a squad leader I use the following methods mostly. The helicopter based squad works well, if we're minimally opposed. The "load up an APC", everyone jump out when we near the flag, works well. The city fighting from building to building works well if I hang back just a little, it gives the squad time to re-spawn on me. I also like the cluster of vehicles squad on the bigger maps. A tank, APC, and AA together with support and an engineer can be devastating. All these squad types are usually generated randomly and rarely work well when switching from one style to another.

As a lone wolf I usually try to keep the backfield cleaned up, try being the operative word.

Haha. LOL@squads.

Running as a squad is the surest way for you to get pwnt. You are slower and easier to notice.

I was manning an AT turrent on Shongua and had just blown up an APC in the distance when I notice three guys swimming towards me. I was trying to imagine these guys' squad chat as I lined them up. Funny thing is, it took two shots to kill two of them, so they had time to assess the situation, and the third got hung up on the foliage getting out of the river and I mowed him down with my M4.

Later that same round as it was winding to a close, I was speeding around in a buggy and see four guys in one of those craters. I make a B line their way and, fortunately for them, the ground was so uneven that the buggy tilted onto two tires and I only got the one unlucky sap who happened to be directly underneeth them, but I think the point was made as I didn't see any more squads around the next round.

I do, however, usually follow the squad leaders directions for attacking.

Best use I ever had for a support class was when I was the fourth man in a blackhawk. I took to tossing grenades rather than firing my little SMG. I tell ya, that worked out pretty well for everybody.

my stats

Those are nice stats, imo. You have a very good KPM and you don't spend much time in vehicles. That's impressive.

But, dude, you need to join or start a squad if for no other reason than to receive orders from the commander.

Squads don't fit my play style at all. A lot of times I'm hiding from tanks, or bumrushing them, taking both of us out. Either that or just killing people with my rifle...or going in to a point by myself secretly, killing the defenders, and then taking it. With other people around that isn't going to work too well.

I guess I should consider starting one for myself, but it seems most commanders are idiots anyways (lets arty the cap point that we have 1 person capping and no enemies are there!).

Thanks though

Well, I think you're helping out your team because lesser players who probably couldn't even get a 1:1 KD ration on foot, can then occupy vehicles and contribute to something more than the other teams stats. Props.

On the commander issue. They have a scan ability that actually lets them see all the enemy positions at once and will generally use this before giving an attack order. I find that when I follow their lead, I end up at a deserted or nearly deserted base that's easy to take. And the enemy will usually only leave a base undefended if they think they have a buffer of control around it which virtually guarantees you have nice juicy revenge seekers to light up with some well placed C4 within one minute of neutralizing the base.

I don't hang with my squad either. But on the rare occasion you and a squadmate take a CP or work together in a chopper for some kills, you rack up tons of points very quick....getting you that much closer to Corporol.

Ive played it on 5 servers so far, been banned from 4 for teamkilling (people run in front of my tank a LOT and i aint frickin movin for emm....). But on the good one which didnt ban me i got to 3rd place, behind some other good guy and the commander. Its all goin pretty well

As for squads and giving/taking orders, noone joins my squad or obeys any order given, jus seems like a big random killing spree. I shot the commander in the head cuz he hit me with artillery

My stat = private, or w/e the lowest one is

veteran knife badge, huh...

Dont be a idiot, i do not point farm. If you would take a second and look at other things rather than assume that i exploit you would see that i am a legit player. For instance my knife stats:

  • Knife 1h 16minutes playing with knife 76kills 99deaths 0.77 17%accuracy

If i were point farming i would have less minutes more kills less deaths and better accuracy.

Why dont you roll your eyes for my pistol vet badge?

Assuming only makes you look like a toolbag.

32 when I want to pad my stats or ensure I get the chopper. 64 when I'm ready for chaos.

same here, 32 or 64. most of the time 32 though. Anything less just gets too boring, especially on bigger maps.

Mine.
...I've been crashing out of games alot lately.

...especially when I'm kicking some serious ass.

The first thing I noticed when looking at people's stats. Many have low accurace >20%. I think you guys need to remember the "small bursts" or even single shots at a time. I've done some close combats against a player who will unload his whole clip on me and maybe only hit me once. LOL
