Has anyone else been reset to placement rounds? I'm not sure what happened, but I'm in placement again. Not only that, but every game I play doesn't seem to be counting as a placement game. I still have 4 games left to place, event though I've played 7 or so. The worst part is that they keep placing me against players who have 40 wins out of 45 games, so I get my ass kicked. Not fun at all.

Same thing happened to me last night. I was gold, played a game, and then after the second game I was unranked, as were the people I was playing. I also had 183702 bonus points at one point. I was hoping it was just a bug, but now that you are having the same problem I'm thinking it was a reset.

That seems to be the norm anytime they release a patch.

the buff may have been alright on its own (immortals/marauders handily take it down, methinks... don't know what zerg can do lol), but with frenzy... I don't know, sounds a lot like rape to me.

lol I don't know why everybody is calling it an ultralisk buff, they used to have 600hp and do 25 dmg, so it's more of a lesser nerf... nobody really uses ultras anyways.

The infestor changes are a bit puzzling though. Even with frenzy ultras aren't as strong as they were patch 11-12 against light units, which is where they need the damage. Good luck getting an ultra to a colossus, immortal, or thor when there's a wall of light ground units in the way. You could possibly use frenzy to keep phoenix from lifting queens, but who wants a 100/150 late lair tech unit at every hatchery for that?

And what was the point of moving infested terran from the infestor to the overseer at 4x the energy cost lol? In casual games against a friend I used to try to spawn several infested terran up his cliff to harass his probes and they were so slow and do so little damage 10 of them could kill 1-2 probes before they ran away. After that I just never bothered using them again, so why make a worthless spell even less useful?

- Weapon upgrade bonus decreased from 1 (+1 Light) to 1.

Reaper
- Nitro Packs research cost decreased from 100/100 to 50/50.

Siege Tank
- Siege Mode damage decreased from 60 to 50.

Thor
- Anti-air weapon upgrade bonus decreased from 1 (+1 Light) to 1.

ZERG
Brood Lord
- Weapon upgrade bonus decreased from 3 to 2.

Bug Fixes
- Resolved an issue with publishing maps in non-English locales.

Sounds good to me. That said, just went 4-1 in 2v2's and got promptly placed into Silver. So whereas the ladder was inflated like crazy the last patch, it's the reverse in this one. I suppose it's for the better though.

Just got SC2 beta loaded up on my 8 year old Dell, and surprisingly - it runs fine. With everything turned to low, the P4 2.8B Northwood, 6800NU, and 1gb of RAM can manage to pull through the game at a manageable framerate. I can't take too many zerglings on the field (so a lot of UMS is out of the question), and I lag a lot, but it's totally playable - no suffering at all. So far I'm 4-0 in my placements, all against very bad players - none of them did a proper job of scouting my base, so I went fast phoenix on all four of them, harassed their overlords, took out their queens, then macro'd up and teched to colossi, immortals, and chargelots, with a few stalkers for flavor. I really like this strat, because it forces Z to go blind without overlord sight, forces them to waste drones and resources building spore colonies, and forces them to go mass hydras, which are owned by colossi and chargelots. Then again, I wonder how this strat will work against a real zerg player...

okay, you got me there - but the computer itself is a Dell Dimension 4500, obtained when I was in 8th grade (eight years ago). Still, I'm shocked that this computer lets me play to my full potential - so far I'd guess I'm high gold to lower/mid plat level, but at least I'm not computer-limited.

I didn't like it much at first, but as I read into the game more and learned the strategy, it's quickly growing on me. Furthermore, SC2 vids are more fun to watch (probably because HD and Husky are great commentators).

So the beta ends today - does that mean at midnight tonight? Or sometime today, or midnight PST, or...
