MyWishlist is a friggin' ruse. A carnival ring toss game where the rings only fit over the POS prizes.

I understand women are big into purses, but trying to buy one of these TRUEX things is rigged. I'm using four damn browser windows at once, and I still get "MISSED IT" even in the time between 12:00:00 and 12:00:01.

I hope when it comes time to give out the 12 BMWs, only two people show up because they're the hackers who hacked their system.

I did an online order on BB for Black Friday. I got the DLink wireless router, and a 160 GB hard drive. Both required rebates. The rebates to BB require a copy of the reciept so I printed off my order confirmation page and sent it in. Well, apparently the order confirmation page doesn't qualify as a reciept. You have to go under your account and look at your past orders and then find the tiny button at the top of the page that says reciept. This is the only thing that they will accept. You'd think that if they were going to be that picky about it that they would say something about that on the rebate form. or that they would have a link on the confirmation page that says click here for rebate reciepts! Awww! This is so stupid. Its stupid crap like this that makes people hate rebate offers. Of course that is probably why they do it. To discourage people from even hasseling with the stupid rebate forms. What a load of crap!

Just bought the Samsung 712N 17" LCD from Bestbuy for $179.99 after rebates and open box discount. And dispite being a customer returned (very poorly re-wrapped) open box item, there was not a single dead or stuck pixel!

Happy New Year to me: I got screwed by Comcast. I setup High Speed Internet three months ago and the customer service agent guaranteed me a locked in rate of $29.99 for an entire year. Also got 3 months of Expanded Standard Cable at $19.99. 3 months later, I get a bill saying everything has reverted back to full price. I call Comcast Customer Service and get a nice lady in the billing department who tells me that the offer I was given was 3 months of HSI at $24.99 and nothing else. She transfers me to the Retention Department with the promise that they'll "help me sort it out."

The agent from the Retention Dept. turns out to be a monster prick who, upon hearing my explanation about the guaranteed HSI rate, claims that Comcast would never make that sort of offer because it doesn't make any business sense. I assure him that I was offered such a thing and he claims that all calls are taped and that if that were the case, they'll find the agent who made the claims and deal with him accordingly. I didn't think to bring up the point that if all the calls were recorded, they could then track down the call where the deal was made and uphold the offer that was given to me. Oh well.

I ended up asking him if there was any way for Comcast to uphold the rate I was guaranteed and he sounded incredulous at the very thought. "Are you suggesting that we apply another promotional rate to your account?" he asked. Jerk. He then lectured me again about sound business practices, put me on hold for a minute, offered me some dinky discounts that didn't come close to matching what I had been offered and acted like I was lucky that he was even considering giving me a deal at all. I ended up having him cancel everything and have already filed a complaint with the BBB. FTC is next, followed by a long letter to Comcast executives, not that it'll do any good.

I'm shopping around for a DSL provider and a dish and the best part of it all is, that I'll probably end up with a bill that's roughly the same as the one I was paying Comcast, promotional rate or not. The bastards.

I was done that way with SBC Yahoo! DSL one time. I guess they are taking thier traning lessons from the old telephone slamming gurus!

Yesterday I was filling out a few rebate forms and I realized I was losing track of all of them....so I figured them all out and wrote them down. 8 outstanding rebates in all that total about $200! I dont have proof of most of them so if they decided to toss them out I am out of luck.

My Outpost.com/Seagate 120GB retail hard drive kit $50 rebate says 'Invalidated by Seagate' on the rebate tracking website I was given - what's better is that there's no mention of why it was invalidated and no contact. With this and still no word on my OfficeMax/Maddog 8x DVD burner rebate, I'm through with fooling with them. :[

HAHA i've screwed SBC out of about 2 years (EDIT: will be 3 in another 8mos) of "PROMO" rates. I've moved twice in the last two years. It seems they can't just migrate my account. Every time they require me to PLACE A NEW ORDER, and each time they set me up as a new customer. Best part is the first promo was 29.99... with this new move i got 26.95 for another 12 mo's. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

It sucks that I had to go through the BBB and the service at the customer service is laughable but after much aggrevation and work, I'm keeping Comcast around for at least another 9 months. I requested the $20 rebate credit in the middle of December. Fast forward nearly a month and I still haven't received my $20 credit. A e-mail to their CS dept only gave me a response of:

I see that your refund is still being reviewed by our Credit Department. I have re-issued the credit request and filed a credit expedite.

Can you say WTF? Nearly a month from my request date and it is still under review.

You all remember that $200 after MIR deal at CUSA for the PNY GeForce 6800? Well I got a lemon (bad image quality as many other people experienced) and I returned it (bought Black Friday, returned two weeks ago). Well, apparently CUSA people aren't very smart: they refunded me the CURRENT price (which was something like $300 + tax = $324). Of course I didn't get the MIR, so the original price was $230 + tax = $250, but I still made $74 .

Oh, and another little story. Was at this Ross-like store called Loehmann's the other day, picked up two Croton automatics for $32 a piece (ebay shows they're going for up to $100, and sites are selling them for up to $200). Just a really random lucky deal, 40% off.

I hate to quote myself but I just wanted to update:

2 of those rebates were from a DVD-RW I got from Officemax back in October or something.

Well those 2 $50 rebates came in... I paid $75 for the Lite-On 4x player so all told I made $25.

Also a Logitech rebate came in, I paid $26 shipped for the Z3s ..got a $20 rebate..so $6 shipped.


Now I just have 5 more rebates left which total about $85.

Bought a wireless router & nic as a holiday gift. I left the UPCs on there so they could test it out and return it if need be. Of course they were still in the boxes when I visited my dad last weekend. Then I leave the rebates on my desk until the last day. Post office closed before I could mail them. Arggh, there were like $100 in rebates. I've never f'd these up so bad before.

I have succeeded in not dealing with Comcast, ever. Hope to keep up the good work.... Jes braggin'
