Brag - I jumped in on Dell's 1GB Sony Pro Duo mem sticks for <$100 deal ($92 with 2nd day shipping of $11 to be exact...got three) a couple weeks back, but didn't realize I was going to be thrown into the world of backorders. Well, my first ETA date to ship was pushed back, so I emailed Dell CS and complained. They waived my $11 shipping fee, upgraded me to next day business air, and gave me a $75 coupon towards anything $75.01 and up. The real brag is that I bought the Logitech X-530 5.1 surround speaker set for $79-$75 = $4 + $.29 tax = $4.29 total. I may never get my memory sticks and might cancel sometime down the road, but that Logitech set for $5 sure rocks! It will be a great gaming upgrade from my $10 two set cheapie setup!

Moan- I got ripped off by ps2covers.com. I ordered 2 flip lids and swapmagic disk from them. After about a week and a half i mailed them about the status and they replied that the disk were out of stock. So ask how long it would be. They stated about a week or so. This went on for about a month. Then i ask for a refund. The guy sent me an email saying that he would foward it to the billing dept. After that he will not respond to any of my emails even if i use a different account. This site is a total scam. Avoid it at all cost. If anyone has any ideas on how to recover my money please let me know.

Thanks.

** ALMOST MOAN **

Ordered a Kodak DX7630 digicam, 512MB SD card, and USB card-reader from Dell Home. Used coupons for discounts and free shipping (expiring today).

Pre-confirm totals indicate my order is 309.99.

After I enter my credit-card number and hit "submit", the total INCREASES to 314.56.

I didn't t hit "confirm", instead I used the BACK button to re-trace my steps. I get screenshots of each screen, then get to the "submit" page again. THIS time, the total is correct (309.99).

If I wasn't watching closely, Dell could've easily squeezed another 5 bux from me - unknowingly!

Buyer beware.

Sigh of relief.
Got in on the Circuit City/Seagate 160 hard drive for $50 AR deal and was expecting the Seagate rebate to take the full 10 weeks(or even longer from what I've read here).
Here it is a bare 3 weeks later and woot, they even beat the Circuit City rebate(which should arrive shortly according to their rebate tracking site).
Seagates "online rebate tracking" didn't work at all... I never showed up in their system.
But $70 later I can't really complain.
Thanks Seagate.

Moan... bought a cheap car cd/mp3 player from WOOT.com last month. It was broke... returned it with RMA... was told I would get a replacement within 3-5 days... and guess what? It's 18 days later and they are not returning my emails...

I should not have ordered from a place without a 1-800 customer service #.

There should be a FAQ here for what is a HOT deal for hard drives.

There are allegedly "tech people" here at the forums - yet continue to post b.s. "hot deals" for hard drives.

To clarify for people that don't know - This is information to INFORM you; to make the community stronger and put a halt to this proliferation of B.S. (doubtfully w/amount of morons)
Per forums rules, if you respond like a moron that posts these so called deals - you are not providing informed information, just bwaaaa "I like the deals", etc.

1)
In 2004 - A.D. The going retail price of IDEs AND SATA disk drives was 50 cents per gigabyte - regularly.(SATA's actually were less)
2)
The mfgs realized - "hey people are idiots" and will accept that the new tech - SATA - should cost more - it does NOT. It costs less to mfg the SATA drives.
3)The NCQ and other "new features" everyone rants over - are not always, nor the majority of time beneficial - do your own research.
4)The mfg of the NCQ/other drives leads to mfgs trying to offload all of the other drives, but instead of lowering the prices, they keep them the same or add "rebates" because morons here/elsewhere think the prices are so good.
5)a REGULAR, everytime price for HDD, ide or SATA w/7200 rpm should never be paid for above 50 cents/gigabyte
6)a HOT DEAL would be something that is at LEAST only 25 cents a gigabyte

Stay informed, stop accepting the prices you think are hot, or else you are stuck with them.
What do you think would be the affect upon mfgs if morons could resist posting b.s. here for just a couple of months?

NOooo!!! The deals would not be HOT, they would go back to NORMAL pricing of 50 cents/gigabyte - and when a sale happened, then yes, they'd be HOT, eg: 25 cents a gig.

If you think this is b.s. still - you are a hard - headed, closed minded, friend of the machine.

MOAN:

If its not FedEx stiffing me on a delivery its UPS with there F'd up system which thinks my zip codes is in another county...

Examples:
Fedex loves sending my sh-t to the bronx, Ups too, if my zip codes not enough to tip you off(your in the delivery bizz you should not F up zip codes) i've started to cleary state instead of New York City,NY i now use Manhattan,NY. They Still send my sh+t to the bronx, which makes the guy delivering on that day put my sh+t last. But Ups is the best they say my sh+ts on the truck come and come 8 pm they state "no one was home" when the guy most definitely did not come. It takes a box from Newark,NJ 3!! days to get to me and im 20 mins away from newark...

I dont know what todo i've phoned both companies to please fix thier zip code systems...

PS: Does it really take more that 8 hours a day to deliver boxes? i mean the trucks aint that big how many boxes you think they can cram in one lil brown truck? and its like 1-4 trucks per zip if its a big one that sh+t should take maby 4 hours tops maybe 5 with traffic...

Brad, then a moan.

I just came into just over $700 of additional computer upgrade money. Yeah!

I was originally only going to spend about $600 upgrading my computer, so one month ago I bought an AGP ATI 9800 Pro. Now I can spend double that...I should have purchased a PCI-E card. Doh.

Glad you finally got yours. I was in on that same deal and my rebate came in early January. I know Staples had a problem with the EZ Rebate system around then. I just got the Maxtor 250G 16MB cache model in last weeks sale.

I shouldnt complain about UPS since I dont have these problems here in cali... I feel your pain though (I used to live in the bronx years ago and mail delivery was always hozed).
But I'll add my own UPS complaint. UPS will deliver to my sister's house and leave stuff on the porch. But at my house they require a sig. Which means I have to drive way out in podunk land in the middle of nowhere. After work. And they close at 6pm, and it takes an hour because traffic to podunk land (Chula Vista) is horrible at this time of day. So I gotta leave work at 4pm to get a package, or send stuff to dad's or sister's houses. I'm lucky I have that solution.

Moan: Ordered a Canon S2 IS on the 9th.

My simon gift card was rejected which probably delayed processing of my order by 3 hours. I got a 7/25 ship date. This sucks but I'm not complaining too loudly about that.

Apparantly people who ordered these on the 10th are getting them shipped. WTH?
