Moan: Office Depot has the most incompetent phone staff ever. Never order over the phone with them, which is what I tried to do to get a price match on a monitor.

THey know they dont have to honor their price match policy because as soon as you get someone on the phone (all outsourced, of course), they can make all sorts of promises and never have to follow up because they dont send anything to you in writing.

Oh no....same exact thing happening to me. I have called them twice, they tell me it will take up to 30 days. Its already been 3 weeks since the order was cancelled. Newegg refunds pretty much within 2 days. Let me know how it turns out with you. I will probably have to call my credit card company after the 30 days are up.

I cancelled the order because 9 days after ordering, the items still hadn't shipped, and there was no way I would have made the postmark date for the rebates on the products. I told them this, and their response was: "too bad" - no reason for the holdup, and items were showing "in stock". So I told them to cancel the order, and placed the same order from newegg. Newegg shipped the order by the end of that very same day. I AM NEVER BUYING FROM MONARCH AGAIN. BEWARE.

It has now been 30 days and numerous emails, yet still no refund for orders that were cancelled before they were even shipped. This is ridiculous. MONARCH IS HORRIBLE. I am also left with no other choice but to seek a chargeback from my credit card company.

Once again, I have learned that Newegg is the way to go - its not worth saving a few dollars at Monarch for the kind of service you get (or lack thereof). DON'T DEAL WITH THESE MORONS.

Ordered an E6600 (paid $339) from ClubIT on 7/27, was supposed to ship yesterday (august 7)...it didn't. Called customer service, guy said that there must have been a mistake because my order was not processed (I think this is code for they took too many orders and didn't have enough stock). He says they'll come back in stock on the 22, and i'm getting 10 dollars off, a t-shirt, and free overnight shipping. Yay for customer service.

Also, I ordered a p180b from newegg at 11:45 AM yesterday for 120.51 after rebate, 3 day shipping, and tax, and got it today at 4:20. Yay for newegg and 29 hour delivery.

Moan...I bought a Mad Dog MegaVault 3.5" Hard Drive enclosure from MicroCenter for $29 with a $15 rebate. The rebate came two months later and right after that the circuit board on the enclosure went bad. Mad Dog said they'd replace it under the one year warranty.

They sent me a RMA and I shipped them the unit. I waited two weeks and finally started e-mailing them. I traced the package and they received it, but they claim somehow it got lost. Now they're jerking me around and telling me the problem has been referred to other departments and supervisors. It's been over a month.

Mad Dog name must have been chosen because they make their customers mad.

Well, it was too good to be true but I thought, "why not." Well, now I know why not - they charged my CC when I placed the order, and the same day I got the email stating that order was cancelled. Today I get my CC statement and they charged it but never credited back to my card. I go to my account at Amazon and click on "problem with order" and they said to contact vendor (Office Depot). When I click to do that, get a message saying "action cannot be completed." WTF?

I'm gonna try again later and if I still can't get through, gonna call my CC company for a chargeback.

Went to Fry's today to pick up some bigger front speakers for my HT. I currently have the Polk R6750 5.1 set-up (also got at Fry's, $200) and was looking to expand to 7.1.

They have the R-15 bookshelf speakers for $40 a pair on special (HD Post) and I thought they would be a good fit.

While waiting for the saleman to grab the R-15s from the back, I noticed the display model clearouts. I ended up grabing a pair of R30's ($35 each) and a pair of R50's ($35 each).

So there it is: 3 pairs for $180. Now I just need a matching center and sub to complete the 7.1 set-up.... oh, and a bigger living room!

How'd I do? Any suggestions for the Polk models for center and sub?
