I did that ...

I'll try again later today ... I also emailed customer service (just looked, it BOUNCED!) ...

salesandservice@emimap101.i.frys.com (reason: 550 5.1.1 <salesandservice@emimap101.i.frys.com>... User unknown) (expanded from: <service@outpost.com>)

June 16th I placed an order:
4991611 Antec Nine Hundred Mid Tower Case ($89.99)
4884650 Viewsonic vx922 19" ($229.99)

Today I received an email from you guys (as a result of now being a customer) advertising the 4991611 case for $69.99.

I called customer service to inquire about the $20 difference since Fry's will price match other stores, to see if you could price match yourselves.

The rep that I spoke to said that Fry's does not match Fry's online pricing.
What I fail to understand is that because I have purchased this item within 30 days, I can still return the item (cost of shipping), then re-order the item for $69 ... and still net a savings.

If I return the $89, you have to sell open box (less than the new cost of $69 on your site now). The I reorder for $69. Seems like Fry's would be losing more than if you just refunded $20.

This is my first order from you and seems totally stupid for Fry's not to honor your own pricing within < 30 days.

Sincerely,
Blieb

Brag...I think:

Remember those infamous SOYO rebates from a couple of years back? I bought a mobo in October 2004 and through multiple submissions to SOYO, the BBB and the AG, I submitted my last novel of paperwork concerning this (it was like 12 - 15 pages and multiple stamps) last Monday and I received my rebate payment in full this Monday. So, after 2 years and 9 months later...I got my motherboard for free.

The FTC made SOYO pay the rebates. Hopefully everyone receives their rebate.

OK so I bought a motherboard from Newegg and it was DOA. Yet they are charging me a $15 restocking fee. Do they always do this?

I'm putting this hear instead of a HOT deal... since the first gamecrazy I called said they would only give you just $50 and not a extra $50 on your system trade in. I went to a gamecrazy 15mins away and they honored the deal... so I got $200 of a PS3. This will work on a 360 as well.

They are having a sale... which hasn't been advertised much from what i've seen, but I was told about it by one of the sales person a week ago. The sale started on 12Aug07. They have a coupon scan sheet that they use to give the extra $50 credit. I think the sale ends either on the 18th or 25th.

I don't know if it's regional or not... but here in CA I turned in my slim ps2 ($60) and old xbox ($40). They are having a sale where you get a xtra $50 credit when you turn in the systems.

Slim PS2 = $110 and Xbox = $90 = $200 off

Apparently you can trade in 2 systems towards the purchase of a new system. The systems have to work, have the required cables, and 1 controller.

Now if your like I did and throw in any old games, accessories, and controllers it will bring it down much lower.

No, newegg has always treated me fairly but I can tell you that resellersrating.com is a strong motivational tool for newegg and if they sacked me for 15% for a DOA, I'd damn sure write it up.

I bought a 1 GB Toshiba SD memory card for my camera at OfficeMax. Original price was $17.99. On sale for $9.99. I had a $10 discount card so added a package of 12 count ballpoint pens, originally 99 cents on sale for 25 cents.

$17.99 minus $8.00 for memory card, $.99 minus $.74 for pens, minus $10.00 for discount card...subtotal 24 cents, tax 2 cents, grand total of 26 cents for 12 pens and a memory card.

How about an apology? How about contacting my bank to tell them to release the second charge? How about not making the second goddamned charge in the first place? These are all things Newegg should've been able to do.

You are apparently clueless on how CC authorizations work. He cant just call your freakin bank. All they can do is electronically void the preauth on your account, and then wait.

It does take a bit for charges to disappear once they have done a refund. Its not like the money is actually gone

The charges DID dissapear. They charged me a second time AFTER the first one got cancelled. THAT's my complaint. I'm aware the first charge was my fault. The second one should not have happened under any circumstances, that's my beef.

I realize I've been guilty of rushing to the defense of Newegg any time anyone says the slightest mean thing about them, but now they've elected to screw me over as well.

A few days ago I made an order for around 700 bucks, but then when I saw the confirmation screen, I realized I'd purchased the wrong item. So I immediately cancelled the order, literally within seconds of making it. I've cancelled orders there before so I knew if I cancelled it immediately there should be no problems.

I wake up the next morning, and I see that Newegg charged me anyway. Confused, I did a live chat with them, and they said I didn't cancel the order until an hour after I made it. I informed them that wasn't the case, I cancelled it immediately, and they simply said "Wait 2-3 days, the hold on your account will go away." He said they'd done an electronic release authorization and there was nothing else they could do. A little irritating, but whatever, I guess I brought it upon myself by cancelling an order.

So last night at midnight I check my account, and the hold is gone. Awesome! So I go to bed, and wake up this morning. NEWEGG CHARGED ME AGAIN. So I got in touch with live chat again, and asked them what the heck happened, and got the response "Well, sorry. Wait 2-3 days and the charge will go away" The guy absolutely refused to help.

I realize 700 bucks isn't an exorbitant amount of money, and I can't really complain too much about the first charge, even though I DID cancel it immediately, but to charge me immediately again? On an order that was cancelled THREE DAYS ago? And now they're refusing to assist at all in figuring out what happened. Ridiculous.

Cliffs: Newegg sucks.

umm, sounds like their automated systems fault, not HIS or the CS's....

even if it's not his fault, he should still at least be willing to look into it. I should NOT have been charged a second time.

Well I'm sure most people would agree, but what did you want the 2nd guy to do? He can't magically make the hold go away, it legitimately does take 2-3 days for that to happen generally. If they told you to screw off, they're charging you anyways then I'd say you have a legitimate complaint, but as it stands its just a goofup in their system that it sounds like they're fixing for you.
