I finally got the Mission Impossible 2 CD...I thought it would be a few songs....Turns out it is the FULL soundtrack....thoroughly pleased and shocked. The whole cd has 16 songs on it....Only took a month and a half to get it. Solid CD, really cool.....

I didn't see any reference to a contest at the 3-Com site.
Any thoughts?

When you said abuse, what do you mean? Is it abuse to use pointclick for what it's there for? Click on overy nickel site and if you want to buy something, buy it though one of the supported sites! Sound like that's what they made it for! I'm wondering, what constitutes "abuse"? People buying and reselling stuff? (Yeah, that is bad! I mean it!)

HOT DEALS FAQ

We need this badly. I am sick and tired of wading through newbe questions like:

1. What does this acronym mean: OD, OM, BB, etc., etc., etc., etc., .... barf

2. How to I make click through rebate sites work (ala BFL, pointclick, etc.) in 500 words or less?

3. Is cyberrebate for real?

4. Where can I go to find out if a retailer is legit?

And I'm sure if I thought about it for 5 minutes I could come up with more anoying question I have seen asked over and over.

I guess the ideal thing would be to have a link at the top of the hot deals forum page linking to the FAQ. If this is not technically feasable how about a locked thread containing the FAQ that gets inserted into the thread stream on a regular basis, say once or twice a day? Or maybe a non-locked thread that would start with the FAQ and allow ppl to suggest additions to the FAQ.

I admit I have been a lurker and occasional contributer to this forum for several months and it took me a while to decipher some of the acronyms. Most I got when some other newbe was willing to stand the slings and arrows by asking wtf it was. I am still trying to decypher one of the most common ones: LOL. I still haven't figured it out. I have some guesses but none seems to fit all of the way I've seen this used. Here are some of my guesses. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could clue me in on this.

Why all the hostility and sarcasm towards the topic I posted regarding hifi.com's promotion? The second link was ON THE PROMOTION PAGE. It may have been a CRITERIA for the discount. If you had taken the time to look at the deal instead of scanning for keywords like "referral", then perhaps you would have seen that there was nothing in it for me.

I saw that. The rule is against links to referral sites, whether or not your personal referral is involved. We also do not permit links to auction sites. Since you managed to "*ahem*" and wink your way through the whole subject of referrals and auction sites, I would guess that you already knew that.

I too have not received anything from softwarebuys.com and mine has been shipped. The tracking number I've gotten is invalid. two many numbers. and I'm waiting for them to respond to me. They claim it was shipped on July 3rd. Fedex 2 day.
