tells about the scam that I and numerous others got trapped in.
Now, all of a sudden, PayPal wants to help!

What do you guys think is the best 'click' to earn points site? I've been accumulating GC's using Freeride, Memolink, Altavista Shopping, and MyPoints.

I don't do referrals, and I don't 'sign-up' for offers. Just wondering what everyone else thinks.

I've heard that Cyberrebates.com does pay the rebates, but sometimes they don't have even basic product information -- like the brand or model. For example, they said they didn't know who made the binoculars they were selling.

Cyberebate does pay. It just takes a loooong time. It took 4 months to recieve my rebate. Also you have to follow their instructions to the letter or they won't process it (i.e. write order# under return address).

Has anyone got a CITI Palm IIIe yet from that "CN" deal a while back where you put in $500 deposit for six months? It will be 60 days tomorrow since I opened mine, and the phone reps keep claiming "backorder" because of manufacturer shortages of LCD panels, which we know about here.

However, I don't know if anyone else is getting this story, but I was told yesterday that a new shipment will arrive Monday (7/24) and that mine would be sent out immediately.

When I complained about the 60 day promise, the rep scolded me, for not keeping my end of the bargain -- in two months I hadn't done a transaction. I quickly did one, but apparently they're not TOO STRICT about this, because she did confirm I was on the list to get it anyway. Just busting my chops I guess for complaining.

Anyway, anyone get one of these recently or hear anything?

Anandtech moderators have crossed the line, and have begun to restrict free speech without reason.

Removing posted responses to their EDICT before they could be viewed and responded to by the majority of the forum members, and declaring the topic "not for discussion" is simply an unacceptable stance in my view.

How utterly charming. For those of you NOT familiar with the term, the abbreviation POS refers to the words "piece of s**t".
Apparently, some, if not all of the members of this forum are regarded in that light by the "Moderators".

This is despicable. You folks need to learn a little about the workings of democracy and the free internet. I can understand the need for self control and the placement of guidelines for the better good of the community, but the actions of the moderators in this forum have become despotic and unilateral.

I'm very pleased with my choice to join another forum when the unilateral implementation of a ban on coupon codes was imposed by the "moderators", and now realize exactly why I did so.

Come to think of it, ever since that happened, I doubt that I've seen more than a small handful of DEALS posted to Anandtech that were worthwhile.

I'm moving my Anandtech bookmark to the BOTTOM of my HotDeals list.

Good luck to all of you, and if one day the "moderators" happen to direct you through a doorway to "the shower room", be afraid... be very, very afraid.

Moan: Buy.com Celeron 566 (and 500)...

Anyone else waiting for a celeron 566 or a celeron 500 from buy.com? I ordered the 566 on June 27th and the 500 on June 28th and still no sign of them (have "on order" on the buy.com site, btw, check it out, they just changed their site, looks kinda spiffy, kinda liked the older one better).

Where are my CPUs!!!! hehe...

I agree with gonif1. The mods should just calm down, and just strictly delete/lock threads with illegal deals or inappropriate remarks. Simple questions that people want answered should not be locked, and the people do not need to be told where to go to post. People here are not babies. Once the question is answered, the thread will gradually drop down itself. No smart-ass remarks are needed from you power-hungry mods.

BTW does anyone even know if there is a differnese between energizer and duricel besides the outer covers of the batteries?
