I posted this in the offtopic forum too, basically, I'm checking to see how many other people got the same email as I did. That way, I can verify how possible my theory is.

I got an interesting spam email today...it puzzled me at first, b/c it was sent with my Dad's name in the To field, but to my email address. Now, there are only two places I've signed up on the net like that. Once at buy.com, and another time at egghead.com. But, at buy.com, I have two accounts, with two different email addresses...and one is in my name. The Egghead account is not that way. Since I only got one copy of the spam, the only place they could have gotten my email address was from Egghead. The message was from IntellectExchange.com, did anyone else get it?

I signed up for that free shirt from microsoft and became a member in the microsoft OEM system builder program, and they sent me a MSCE training kit for Windows 2000 Professional. It has a thick class book with a disc inside. MSCE Exame 70-210.

They also sent me a 'Beta 3' Preview copy of Windows ME (for evaluation purposes only). I'll have to load it and see if it works OK. Does anyone know if the 3rd beta ow Win ME has any serious bugs?

I just wanted to express how encouraging it is to see a helpful and classy response from one of the moderators in the thread http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=40&threadid=202428. Rather than responding with the typical condesceding or sarcastic remark, this moderator took a few seconds to explain why the thread was being locked and also offered to help the gentleman. I wish we could see this type of response more often, after all it is possible to maintain an effective balance of power and civility.

Citi/FI is SCREWING people who signed up for the Palm deal!!!

After being told over and over again that I would receive my Palm "soon," -- and last week, I was told a shipment was coming in this week, and my Palm would go out today -- they've BROKEN THEIR OBLIGATION on this deal. Now instead of "60 days within opening" the account, the deal is, the Palms go out "90 days within the first transaction!"

If anyone else is still waiting on this deal, please join me in complaining LOUDLY to CITI/FI about this. (Yes, I'm talking about using ALL CAPS.) Their customer service number is 800 2-CITI FI.

My favorite scammer is at it again on Yahoo! He got about 24 victims before he was detected by a previous victim and reported to PayPal which froze his account before the auctions ended. See here for the details

Turns out this scammer has been operating since last year! Yahoo knew about this and has done nothing!

One victim was able to get his money back last year by scamming the scammer. He recognized bogus auctions and proceeded to outbid everyone on every item. He then refused to pay for anything or to stop bidding unless he got his money back.... which he did.

And Yahoo!s response...... months of investigation and no action.

Local computer shows are the way to go for cases and sometimes parts for that matter. We have many locally here, like every couple of weeks. I often purchase full tower Inwin cases, mostly for a specific client I have (have 2 of my own as well), and I sure get them discounted.

The lowest I've gotten one for was $38 bucks, brand spanking new. Has anyone ever beaten this? Legally?

Not to mention no shipping on them. I must witness at least 10 different vendors selling cases at computer shows (often held at flea markets or at college campuses or stadiums). It's always fun making them compete for my business.

Hehehe....last night I got a Gateway FPD1500 15" DVI flat panel monitor. It's digital, 16 million colors, and it's sooooo cool. I paid $395 for it in NEW condition! Yahoo auctions are nice I'd say. The seller can set a buy price so you can end the auction immediately. I'm happy, because this monitor was never sold standalone. =)

I ordered one, but still haven't gotten it! According to
the dates on this hotdeal, I ordered mine before anyone else
