GRR!! Egghead takes 3 weeks to ship a product i won in their auction the 2nd week in September... AND they charged my Credit Card already


GRR!! GRR!! Buy.com shipped me two Linksis 4 port routers... when I only ordered one (cancelled the second one... confirmed cancellation by calling the 800 number, CSR verified i cancelled and said it won't go out)... GOT two.... authorized an RMA, shipped the package back which was received a week ago... and STILL got charged for two... and now Buy.com says it takes 2-4 weeks for a credit to be processed!!!!!

Can they even do this!! GRR!!

Regardless, they pulled my circuit and gave it to someone else and now there are no more lines for DSL in the area.

Got yet another package from the great people at Cisco Systems today, a book entitled "Optical Networks: A Practical Perspective". Looks to be about 600 pages long! I'm now awaiting a phone call from a friendly Cisco representative.

Just some locational info: I'm living in Toronto, Canada. Anyone else get this book yet?

I tried and tried for that WD 45 gig hard drive pricematch at CompUSA with no luck. Every single one of the Best Buy's anywhere near me was sold out. There is one right in the same shopping center as a CompUSA store near me so I went in and asked a clerk about it in person. Sold out for a while now he says. So I told him about the pricematch with CompUSA and asked him if he wouldn't do me a favor and just tell the BB employee they were in stock when he called in about 10 minutes. No problem he said. I go to CompUSA, they call, they're told out of stock, I say "that's incorrect, I was just there, ask for xxxxx". The CompUSA rep hangs up the phone saying, "I called, they're out of stock, so I can't PM". I go right back to Best Buy to find out what happened and xxxx is nowhere to be found. I'll bet that little sh*t is pulling the same scam with his butt buddy friends and snatching up all the WD 45 gig drives. Bastard.

BUYCOMP rules sometimes. My bro asked me to order a 64 meg of Ram for 65 bucks and it got shipped to all whacky places so I ordered another one with quick shipping on my card because I felt bad. I email buycomp and told them I got one and paid for two. They credited me back the money for both sticks of RAM, I must point out this was not an error but a specific in the CSR email.

I'd pretty much given up on these, but my 3 free cd-r's from Adaptec (for "registering" CD-Creator) from about 3-4 months ago finally came. They're silver Ricoh 74mins of indeterminate speed. Too bad they were shipped in an oversized envelope with no sleeves or anything, and the fingerprint of whoever packed them on one of the discs. I'll see if they burn OK, but my hopes aren't too high.

Remember the cybershop e-commerce deal with computers4sure were you got 20% off your purchase. I think this was at the end of August. Well I picked up a PIII 700 and have is oc to 980. I paid $199 for it but there was a problem with the credit card (punched in wrong exp. date) and I had to call it in. The cr had to re-enter the info and price and had gone up to $221 and she said that she could give me the old price of $199 by giving me a credit after the transaction went through. I thought not a bad deal, a PIII 700 for $199. Well that deal became a sweet ass deal today when I got my rebate check for $45.75. The rebate was on the $221. I ended up paying only $155 for a PIII 700@980. At that time it was a hot deal.

this is heresy and possible blashphemy(?) but after the 45gig hard drive deals lately, I will shun and avoid compusa over here at least in california. customer service is the worst ever i have ever encountered!!! they have 2 different branches of service--one for online orders (an answering machine) and real customer service after 15 in of waiting and then you learn that you cannot check the status of your order through the telephone simply because it's a difernt dept and database!!!!:| I spent 5 days trying to get the hard drive and was leaving messages and calling all sorts of dept for help and NONE would help me and it was SO frustrating!!!! I was happy enough to get the 45gig for 100 dollars at the circuit city after 3 days (i've sent in the rebates ) (that's a different customer service story)
however, here's the part that i might be yelled at for saying such a thing---staples is nice several times my boyfriend and i have gone to a certain staples store and was able to get pricematches without any hassle and the people were actually nice. i guess i was just lucky..oh well.

with at least one $50 rebate coming back. I had sold the first one for $350 so this is cool for the next person calling with a broken PC .
Moan, the S10s aren't selling because egay is flooded with them, perhaps when the christmas rush starts..
