major staples rant:

I ordered a $138 Antec 1080AMG case, $10 30 pack Sony CD-Rs, and $6 25 belkin CD cases to take me over the $150 for a 30 off 150 coupon. The Case was out of stock but the staples web site showed it as in stock and approved my order. The next day I recieved an email that the case was not in stock and they took it off my order and proceeded to send the rest. The rest which I did not want without the computer case. When I saw this email I immediately called Staples customer service. The CSR informed me that my account will not be charged and yet 4 days after my order, the trasaction still hasn't been cleared up, tying up the money in my available balance because I used a debit card. To make it worse the CD order was in "warehouse" and couldn't be canceled. I had to reject the order from UPS and now await for another credit on that order. I have ordered many times from Staples and never had this problem. This experience is extremely disapointing.
The way I see it,
A) the website should have been up to date,
B) Staples should have asked to change my order not do whatever they wanted,
C) my order that hadn't left the warehouse should have been able to be canceled without me having to reject UPS,
D) FIX MY ACCOUNT CREDIT! Staples is basically holding $160 of my money for no good reason.

Did anyone here take advantage of that Sennheriser HD580 deal at Newegg late last year? Newegg said they came with a $20 rebate from Sennheiser, and included a link to a rebate coupon.

Well, I sent in the rebate and I just (JUST) got a card in the mail telling me that the rebate was denied because Newegg is not an auhorized dealer.

I guess I can complain to Newegg, but my experience with their customer service is not favorable.

Anyone else?

I purchased the Cendyne 4x DVD +R drive at Stapless with a 10 pack of DVD +R's. Used a Coupon for $50 off. Came with a $50 rebate. OfficeMax ran their Anniversary Sale that weekend and I was able to PM to OfficeMax's $30 cheaper price. I did NOT try to PM to Officemax's after reabte price which some people were able to do initially to get about $80 off. However, when they credited my credit card, they subtracted $30 from my ORDER TOTAL BEFORE COUPON and Credited me the difference -- i.e., I got a $212 credit instead of $30 ! I did not even pay $212 with the $50 coupon. After I get the already approved $50 rebate, Staples screw up will end up in them paying me about $60 to buy the drive and DVD +R's! Damn Lucky

I hate returns.....at least I cannot blame this one on Buy.com...never really had a bad experience with them......I was just looking forward to popping in a few episodes while I work from home on Saturday night......

not really a huge brag but i had to come and compliment Costco on an excellent rebate system. i just bought the Gattaca (Superbit) dvd which retails for around $25-30 MSRP. it was on sale at costco for $18.99 (they had a STACK of other superbit titles for this price), and $19 alone is a good price for a superbit dvd (those unfamiliar, superbit dvd's have higher video quality and a DTS soundtrack, and usually cost in the mid to high $20 range). Anyhoo, at checkout, a $5 MIR printed out, making the dvd $13.99AR. the great thing about costco, you just have to go to costco.com and click on Rebates at the top, and you can submit the rebate electronically. it took a few tidbits from the receipt and said i would receive it in 4-6 weeks. what a great system! dont even have to take time to drop the letter off or use a stamp. higher quality movies at a cheaper price, plus an excellent rebate center. had to spread the good word about Costco.

The motherboard wasn't barebone, it had all the accesories, its a version 2.0 board, and the Athlon XP was a DLT3C JIUHB Thouroughbred B!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time to smoke some $300 Intel chips with $113 worth of hardware.

I was in at Office Depot yesterday checking out the clearance section. I thought I had checked the area well and started to walk away when I look down by my feet. There is an open box Microtek 17" lcd for $348. This is currently selling for $348 after instant and mail in rebate. Rebate printed out with the transaction the csr looked it over in disgust. A $60 MIR makes this thing $288 for me. :beer: I just sold my 15" to a buddie for $200 making this a $90 upgrade.

Damn Best Buy. Every DAY, since Monday I called them up about the Apex 24" flat screen tv for $149 and they said "We don't have any in, but we have a truck coming tonight". This was said every day and every day I called they said, "no, we don't have any in". 6/13/03 - Email from them saying case was backordered and would be in after 2 week and would ship (no big deal ... not in a rush)

7/13/03 - STILL no case or refund ... just sent them a real nasty email. :disgust:

Found a *new* sony laptop at the local staples here, the FX 120. P3 700 with 13.3TFT and a DVD drive. My final price : $556 Cdn with taxes, or roughly $375 US.

Not bad I'd say, esp cuz I found something for what I used it for !
