Regretting my Black Friday rookie mistake:
Went to Staples to get in on the $9.94 and $9.98 scanner and printer deal and FORGOT the $20 off $100 coupon AT HOME!!! :| I paid $129.XX in total. With the coupon and the $100 bucks in rebates, that would have brought it down to around $10 bucks after MIR's! What was I thinking???
But asides from that, got a bunch of good stuff. Thanks to all the Hot Dealers!

OK this pisses me off. I got the free webcam bundle at BB today (after thanksgiving day sale). Anyways, rebate requirements is long, even includes registering software. But what really gets me is that it requires an "IBM product registration card". Guess what boys and girls? NONE TO BE FOUND in the "PC Camera" Box. Did anyone else end up getting fooled like me? I already confirmed it with two other ppl who bought the bundle from different BB's.

(My friend opened up to software package to see if the card was in there, and there was none to be found. Only a IVISTA card but not an IBM card.)

Did anyone find their card? Is anyone else missing their card?

I bought my ti200 at Best Buy on wednesday night and went back in this afternoon about 2pm after the crowds were gone. They returned it and rerang it so I could get all the rebates and the instant rebate. $99 rocks. Also got a Yamaha 20x cd burner for $99 after rebate, its for my dad so I hope its good. I did get in line this morning to try to get the 29.99 cd burner, but a lot of people didn't play fair and just cut in line. I couldn't believe how many people came in and waited in line, probably 3-400. The only reason I was there was one of my friends and I were at the casinos after the bars closed and didn't feel like going home. I also couldn't believe how rude people were just so they could get their hands on some POS electronics. A lot of fat women kept cutting in line and would just drive up to the front of the store and try to push their way in. Then they would run their carts into people with absolutely no respect for others. There was a big group of Pakistani guys who came in to try to get all the 60 gig hard drives too. They p!ssed me off because they pretty much blocked off a whole aisle with their shopping cart, grabbed one of the $29.99 cd burners out of a ladies hand and were climbing the shelves to get to the overstock drives up on top. I really can't believe how our society claims to be so sensitive to others and can donate a billion dollars or whatever to the tragedy in New York, but then they have no respect for others just so they can save 20 bucks on some cheap cd player.

I got a $500 check from Buy.com litigation. I'm sure it's for the 19" Hitachi monitor fiasco a few years back.

Remember the SGI 1600SW deal? When they finally shipped the monitors, many people were overcharged for shipping. I complained and with some persistence, they finally gave me a $51 credit from the $86 they originally charged for shipping/handling.

Within that same week, I received my $100 HP rebate for the DVD/CD-RW a while back ago. Now that doesn't seem like such a big deal but what happened was that I forgot to send in my receipt and the rebate company was nice enough to send everything back along with a letter saying I have 30 days to resubmit. Probably took like two weeks after that for me to receive the rebate.

Saved myself 40 bux yesturday at BB and CompUSA. Picked up a CF MemPlug Module for my Visor Prism at CompUSA $50 - 20 instant rebate =$30 and i picked up a SanDisk CF Media from Bestbuy during their five hour sale $50 - $20 instant rebate = $30. Now i have another 64mb added to my visor, and that is more than enough.

Well, I got to Best Buy at 6am on thursday, and was about 50th in line. A guy with a basket, started at the front of the line handing out pieces of paper for all the limited items.... Magically, the line in front of me then doubled in size and wow, what do you know, they ran out of the 60gb HDs AND the geforce3 before he got to me... Since there was only like 50 people in front of me when i got there, and probably 100 or more when the guy with the basket showed up, this really pisses me off. As far as i know, this is the only bestbuy in the nation that did it this way, and obviously it didn't work, did it? Big fvck up BB, you suck, you always have. You have low prices, but other than that, you are one of the Sh*ttiest stores i have seen in my life.

Camped Best Buy from 3AM til opening, laughed as the cool bouncer guy told all the stupid old women who thought they didn't have to wait in line to go home. Told em that even if they went to the back he wasn't gonna let em in. Was the first to the hardware aisle and picked up my GF3Ti200, 60 gig HD, and burner, a sales clerk was standing right there, told him I needed some software so he put my stuff behind the memory counter and told me to come back and he'd check me out. My girlfriend got the webcam and CD-Rs while I grabbed BlackIce and Video Deluxe, was out of the store by 7:20! After that I got my scanner and surge protector at staples, the APC and Panasonic digi cam at CC, and more CD-Rs and the black logitech optical bundle at CompUSA. Halfway towards my new system, now to go get a free NIC from BB.

I love the 30% off at Virgin Megastore.
I also love that they had Xboxes in stock... $325 + tax ($350 total) for an Xbox, extra controller, two games, and a memory card that I'll be selling to a friend who would actually use it... so really it was an Xbox, extra controller, and two games for under $300. Retail would have been $470. Thank you, Richard Branson! You can fly your balloon over my house any day.

If anyone has heard of http://free.aoenn.com and ordered a computer from there, ought to go get their money refunded before it's too late. I fell for this program after doing a lot of research. It appeared to be legit, but now is appearing like a fraud. They claimed that it would take 4-6 weeks to get the notebook that I ordered, and it has now been nearly 10 weeks and still nothing. To make matters worse, I can't even get my money back, because I paid with paypal and they have a 30 day fraud guarentee that has obviously past. At anyrate, this is NOT a HOT DEAL! KEEP AWAY! If you know anyone that did this it would be wise to tell them to get their money back, or cancel the trasaction on the CC. :| :disgust:

This is a moan thread and I will moan about that stupid z560 deal from Dell. I ordered at 11:40something PM on the 14th, the day after the deal was announced. Order was cancelled by Dell without notification (found out after calling their customer service and going through countless transfers until a department could actually find a record of the order, which they claim never took place). Had to reorder that day, the 17th. Confirmation email sent out on the 21st; (it was promised within 24 hours of purchase) prospected shipping date of 2/25/02. Product goes back in stock. People order it on the 19th - 21st. They get theirs shipped and most of them already received theirs. I'm sitting on my ass waiting for a tracking # even though I ordered earlier than the vast majority of the people who already got theirs. I wish I was a bitter old bastard, then I would feel happy since this would be my job.

I am moaning about the topics that are left unchanged and not updated as the deal changes. ie the Circuit City DVD...the topic still reads 69.99, but the price is now 79.99. Cant the person who started the post edit it as the deal changes...Is that too much to ask?

Dell sucks - just got off the phone with a CSR rep related to a dif't purchase. I bought an HP C215 digital camera. The product was advertized with a $50 rebate link. The rebate link is still on the website as applicable to the C215 (in the previous rebates section).

Turns out the $50 rebate advertized by Dell specifically excludes the model that I purchased.

So I called Dell, and their CSR said that I should contact HP, since it is their rebate. I told her that Dell was the one who made the advertisement, and I purchased it from the Dell site, so Dell should be responsible... She said that I then needed to talk to the promotions department, since they are the ones who handle rebates and the web site. I protested briefly, but my call was subsequently transferred. She subsequently transferred my call to the wrong department, and then they, I assume, inadvertently hung up on me. I was nice as pie throughout the call, and she (the one who did not lose $50) had an attitude with me.

I called back, and got the after hours computerized operator. Dell Customer Service is suck...

Not to mention the fact that I ordered my 8500 from them, and still have not received it yet. Damn lottery system.

To reiterate - Dell's customer service is suck.
