If you guyz need help installing windows XP, you can email me at paulywog22@attbi.com and i will be more then happy to help you. Also wit hthe activation thing, not everyone has internet, so activating it is impossible. all you need to do, is unplug your box's from the network/internet and it will automatically skip the activation thing. Scored a pretty decent deal today.

Went to Staples to PM an MS Optical Mouse against CompUSA who had it for
$19.99 less $10.00 rebate. Store manager said that he would PM but not the
rebate part. I didn't care because I already knew that the rebate was generic.

Also wanted the PNY 50 CD's with carrying case for $19.99 that were on
sale. Why? Cause they were cheap and I need a case for CDs

Brought both to the counter and told the cashier about the PM that the
manager said that he would do the price matching for me. She rang up both items
($40.00 plus tax). Handed her the $10.00 coupon and she took that off. Now I am down to
$30.00

Side Note: Why is it that when I try some of these deals it seems like a big anticipatory
event. Will the cashier take the coupon on not. Anyone else get the same feeling? I know
that for me the deal is dead if they don't accept the coupon.

When I got back to my office (slow day ? Christmas Eve) I looked and found
that I got the MS Intellimouse instead of the Optical mouse (Intellimouse is more expensive).
The rebates don't match up with the wheel mouse rebate coupon that I have in hand so what do
I do? Almost panicked. However with a cool head I looked for and found a $10.00 rebate form for
the Intellimouse.

End result was as follows:

Intellimouse $20.00
PNY 50 CD's $20.00

Less $10.00 (Staples coupon for 10 off 30)
Less $10.00 (MS Intellimouse rebate)
Less $15.00 (PNY CD Wallet & CD Rebate)

Final Price $5.00

All figures have been rounded and do not include sales tax, postage etc..

A pretty sweet deal for everything. I feel that I scored a pretty decent deal today.

Brag:

Last week I went to a new (for me) cafeteria at work (nearby building - NY) for the first time.

They had a Christmas raffle whereby one could fill out a name and telephone on a card and put
it in a bowl. I filled out a card and lo and behold the next morning I had a message on my phone systems
that I had won a ginger bread house.

Nice surprise. Gave it to my neice for Christmas.

Brag:

I am an actual retail employee and got in on the free XP deal. Also while at work a lady walked up and said she wanted a new computer and money was no object so I pointed her towards the most expensive one at the store and lo and behold she was a secret shopper and gave me a $50 Gift Check from Intel/Microsoft and entered me into a contest. Fast forward a few weeks and I get a letter telling me I won the contest which includes:

A P4 Proc
An Intel Mobo
Another Copy of Win XP (my 3rd legal copy)
Office Xp
Xoo Tycoon
Flight Simulator

and other stuff mostly the ones that have quizzes going on them, retail price is $1800

Still another decent deal for me at Staples yesterday.

Bought an 8/8/32 CD Writer (it was a discontinued model) for $35.00
Less $10.00 coupon (10 off 30).
It also has a $20.00 MIR from the manufacturer.

Net price about $8.00

brag.

I found floor model Epson Stylus Photo 780 at my local CompUSA. Price tag said $69.95. I offered $40. The Manger accepted. Not bad for a printer that originally listed for $149.

Nice J---

Brag -- in 1999-2000, I made around $57,000 by doing resale on ebay.

BIggest deals:

1) Sears Zip drive @ $49.95 -- I even had my mother order 500 -- she had the balls to ask the manager for a 10% discount...and got it. I had to rent a uhaul and pull teeth to get Sears to deliver on their order (I have pictures)
Total ebay profit ~15,000

2) Mercata, Value America, etc. before thebubble burst
voodoo 3 cards, hard drives, food for me for 6 months, pots and pans, binoculars, etc.
Total ebay profit ~$30,000

3) Hifi.com
God bless their DVD/speaker combo - remember that? You got $100 off the samsung DVD player and the Cambridge soundworks DTT2500?
Sold over 200 each, UPS became my friend
Total ebay profit ~5,000

4) Staples bungles
I bought so many "leather like" briefcases from staples at .01ea that I STILL have boxes of them hanging around. An entire UPS truck came to my house.
Total ebay profit $4,000

5) Refurbed CD players from buy.com
$2,000

6) Compact flash cards from staples
$1,000

The sweetest thing was waking up at 4am to get to the Value America servers before they completely locked up. I remember making $1,000 one morning before 8am. The second sweetest was the zip drives if only I didnt have to wait so long (2 months) for them.

All I can say is thanks to this board for keeping me out of the work world for a year.
