BRAG...
Newegg.com is great, I bought and recieved the Enlight case that was posted as a sale/special. It is great and the PS that came with it is better than reported. I THINK I saw in a picture that the PS was only a combined output of 160 watts (it was still a 300W PS), but then I see that it is 180. Woo hoo. Well my 1600+ could have been run off of the 160, but now 180 give me breathing room for higher XP processors.

MOAN...
I ordered from Googlegear.com and it probably isnt their fault, but my shipment is SO SLOW...UPS is horrible. The case mentioned above was shipped on 1/7 and recieved 1/9 (that was with fedex saver too), but the googlegear/UPS shipment left on the 1/3 and still isnt here.

i second you moan! UPS is absolutely terrible. I just went through a huge deal that was shipped on the 20th of December from and CA and supposed to arrive the 28th in WI. I just got it today. The 9th?!?!? of January! The short story is that nobody at UPS would accept responsibility and the Customer Counter disagreed with the tracking listed on the UPS website and said it was wrong, EXCEPT that the phone reps said that the website is correct. So apparently nobody knew anything.

Needless to say, i will never, ever send through them again if i can help it.

This why staples sucks.....
I order a camera from on Monday. Wednessday camera arrives, with finger prints all over it, the acessories bag ripped open and other various signs of previous use. The memery card was even full of pictures of some dudes house. I call them to ask for a replacement, that is not used. They say fine, we show it in stock and we will deliver it tommorow. Well tommorow is now today and I just got off the phone with some stupid csr and there boss. They don't have any instock and would like to ship me another cross country ground, 5 days. The Supervisor tells me Staples can't ship overnight or 2 day because the company does not have a contract with UPS. How can a company as large as Staples not be able to ship overnight, any idoit can walk into a Mailbox R US and do it. Oh well I just thought everyone should know that staples sucks.

Went to Staples tonight, they had alot of the fiberboard furniture on clearance. Lots of bookcases and hutches and stuff for $25-$50. One piece was sitting there with a big tag $4.50.

I got a nice hutch that is now sitting on my wife's computer desk for $4.50. SWEET!

I excellent condition, about 4 foot by 4 foot, 4 compartments for bills and things, a shelf halfway up for books... Nice cherry finish.

I ordered the Dreamcast from Buy Rite Games. In a word, they SUCK!!!! I got a confirmation email with an order number, but no tracking number, no notice that it had ever shipped out, and no notice that they had even finished processing my order. Their customer service number is a joke. It's a giant automated menu that doesn't have any people attached to it at all. If you press "0", it doesn't take you to customer service, it boots you to the main menu. Not only that, but according to their site, you CANNOT cancel an order for ANY reason. Once it's in their computer, according to them, it's too late.

Well, I thought that was a lot of BS. So, I tried calling them, but I couldn't even get to an answering machine. Eventually I found a contact page where I could write them a letter. I told them I wanted to cancel the order.

I haven't heard back from them since. I ordered on Dec. 26. It is now January 15. My credit card statement has yet to come. I'm gonna be megapissed if it has a Buy-Rite charge on it.

DON'T BUY FROM BUY RITE GAMES.

Joined Earthlink for the free printer and scanner, which the rep said would be either Canon or HP. I figure, Canon... eh.... but still a name... or HP... cool beans...

I get the stuff today by UPS, which I paid $24.95 in S+H, even though it should have only cost about $10 shipping... that is a lot of handling.....

I open the box, and to my surprise I get a Lexmark z13 (just a slight step up from my existing Lexmark Colorjet 1020 [the first Lexmark model]). The scanner is no name, however both are USB... I guess I shouldn't biatch for getting them both for free, but have to have earthlink for 3 months at $21.95 which sux.

Even the crappiest HP is better than a Lexmark... or atleast in my opinion, and I have been fixing computers and peripherals for a few years now.

BTW, anyone know how to clean a printer. A cartridge exploded in my 1020 printer, and now it prints black crap on both edges (sides) of the page... I opened the thing, and tried to clean it... didn't work... tried to run a paper soaked in alcohol to clean it... didn't work... sheesh... I'm pooped from explaining...

Okay, thanks for listening to me bitch...

Moan - I was almost lured by that Outpost ESC K7S5A / Duron 950 $ 99.00 - Then came the return policy - NONE ! . The ECS stuff is sold as new and the mfgs won't take it back unless it is sent back by a reseller. What kind of business is Outpost ?! . What is strange is that their B&M sister co. - Fry's B&M , does have a 30 day return policy. I have emailed Outpost and gotten canned BS answers. I guess maybe the next step is to contact their corporate office and make them aware of how ridiculaous this is. Meanwhile my advice isbuy somewhere else that has a return policy - New Egg , Mulitiwave , etc or local .

folks, be aware that both overstock.com and justdeals.com now hosting at yahoo, they are unfair, bad merchant selling junk component at a price that seem a little cheaper then retailer but that's how they get you, so becareful plz.
i bought one time but that one lesson for me not to try something you don't know. Looking at resellerratings.com you can see their very low rating but some folk wanna give them a chance, but end up a disappointment still. I am usually a forgiveable person but I cannot settle for low quality product costing a little more than quality stuff elsewhere.

Ebay Fee Increase:disgust: Ebay would do well to remember that they are not the only online auction service. The new features they provide, which they claim is the reason they raise fees, are simply avenues to more profit for them later on. For example: Picture services, 10 day auctions, and Buy It Now; all features which were introduced as free and they now charge for. Tell me, why should we pay for innovations that simply cost us more in the long run? Granted a .25% increase is barely mentionable but on that same token why squeeze us for such a small amount when their company is doing so well? Instead of voicing our displeasure here we should do it here Contact Ebay I for one am sick of being nickel and dimed:disgust:

I just want to give out a big HELL YEAH for newegg

I bought a K7V5S mobo there about a week ago, and managed to crush a capacitor on the board (C95) while installing the heatsink. I called and asked if the could get me the value of the capacitor, as I have the tools to make those kinds of repairs. I also explained that I damaged the capacitor and was figuring that they would charge me full price for a new board.

Well, Luis (CS rep) tells me that they will not only replace the board for free, but will pay for the return shipping. He was very cool about it, very straightforward, and very helpful.

Brag:

I purchased a router and a ball of rubber bands for $102. Router was $99.99 and rubberbands were $2. I used $20 off $100 coupon to bring the total down to $82. After picking up online order, 2 days later I went to return the router. They actually credited back 99.99. So, I made $18. $99.99 - $82.

I didn't mean to scam them or anything but that fat girl at the counter didn't notice that I used a $20 coupon.

I signed up at the end of December for that free 2002 wall calendar from Butterball Turkey (don't laugh) and I just got mine today 1/19/2002. Looking at the picture from January on the calendar, I know this is a calendar from Butterball but does the person in the picture also have to look like a butterball herself. What did I expect to see, a supermodel frolicking with a butterball turkey :Q? That would be too much to ask I guess. Anyways, thanks to the original poster for this deal.

Granted that you should always be careful... Always use a credit card so you have some leverage!

But I just wanted to say that I've bought from both of these companies before without incident. From overstock, I bould a Palm VII for $99 AR at a time when it was selling for $299. More recently, I just got my 2 wireless bridges from justdeals.com for $300 for both. These are listed at $1100 EACH, and selling at CDW, and many others for $800 or so EACH! The showed up brand new in box just as advertised minus a cable. Called Proxim the manufacturer, and they overnighted 2 cables free of charge while apologizing and admitting that some of them had gotten out without the cable.

But yes be careful, be sure of what your ordering, and who your ordering from... For me it was worth the risk. I got a enterprise quality wireless bridge setup (complete with bridges, cables, antennas, lightning protectors, etc) for $600, about 1/3 of the lowest price I was quoted from others.

I seem to remember a few weeks ago there was a blurb on how to effectively complain to Dell about their lousy customer service. I would really like to give them an earful on my latest. They shipped my printer to the wrong address. This happened even though I had called Dell more than once to have the shipping address changed, several weeks before the backordered printer was shipped. The second time I called the CSR even confirmed the correct shipping address before I gave it to her. I hate calling them only of hear 20+ minutes of "ask Dudley" before ever speaking to a real person.

Did anyone buy that Silver Slider (for the iPaq) bundle that
PDAmotion was offering about 2+ months ago? I foolishly jumped on it
(it included the SS, a USB/power cable and a case for around $50),
had my credit card charged IMMEDIATELY, and then never got ANYTHING
shipped. They kept promising it would be sent (delay this, delay that),
but nothing shipped, even when their pushed back ship dates arrived.

Anyone have more luck?

I just went to www.pdamotion.com and tried to access the forums, but
they seem to be down. Hopefully, not for good...

Kwad they did not show up at CES last week either. I wanted to look at their slider product once again after seeing it at Comdex back in the fall and thinking it was a POS. After being flamed in an earlier thread by people that swear by the product, I wanted to get a closer look and compare it to the new BT sleeve for the iPaq 3800 series, but no luck since they were a no-show!
