This is a moan about AccessMicro.com:

I ordered an Enermax EG465P-VE FC "Whisper" power supply from them for $79.00 + $10.45 shipping (comes in a red box with the word "Whisper" in large type).

They shipped the non-FC version of the power supply (blue box).

I just sent them an RMA application, but their T's & C's state that shipping is not refundable.

Why should I have to pay shipping for an item I did not order?

For peeps in the LA area.

Store managers are important when you wanna use a PM or argue a coupon, i ran into 2 anal ones at the officedepot in Industry and Alhambra. Stay away from those stores. The manager at west covina (Eastland mall) is cool.

MOAN:

It takes forever to get credit back from DELL!!! Customer service is no help at all!!!

I ordered a dell systerm in Feb. 2002 and was promised on 2/28/2002 for a $100 credit back to my account for price adjustment.

Since then I have contacted Dell customer service several times to check on the status of the process. Everytime the person will tell me that I should get the credit back to my credit card the next day (except the first time, person said it might take a few weeks).

Until now, they still have not credited my account. I asked their customer service manager to call me. Some guy called me this afternoon, gave me the bulls**t about they can not promise anything regarding when I can get my credit back.

It's a horrible and frustrated experience. This was my first time deal with dell and it is definitly not up to all the hypes regarding how good their service is.

I will say, maybe their systerms are good, but, definitly be prepared to deal with those CSRs when you have a problem, especially credit refund problem.

Along the line, here is what I found anther complain about dell's customer service.

Hehe..I feel Soooooo lucky. I ordered the Visioneer 8100 scanner the final evening of the $80 rebate promotion, but when I got the scanner, the invoice was dated the next day. I figured they wouldn't honor the rebate, but figured it was worth a try, so I sent it in with a little note explaining my situation.

WELL, not only did I get my $80 rebate check, but I also got another $80 rebate check too!! All that on top of the $45 I wound up selling the scanner for, I made $125 off of this deal!!!

Big time brag:

Dell's having an employee-only promotion with refurbed monitors:
199 for a 19" Trinitron
279 for a 15" LCD
479 for a 17" LCD
799(!!!) for a 20" LCD (these retail for 1799)

Just bagged two 20" LCDs. Mmm mmm good.

Have been getting most of my outstanding rebates these past few days. Now I am only down to $180.00 outstanding.

Altogether since May of 2001 I have received $830.00 in rebates.

It's really sad how some online stores sell something actually nice for real cheap... and then blatantly slap you in the face (and in the ass) with a shipping charge that's like allmost half of the sale price.

I bought a Samsung 20" TV for $199 at Best Buy. Had it a week and did'nt like the sound or the curved screen. Took it back and saw a Toshiba flat screen for $279.
I took the new unit and the return to the service desk. The girl scanned the UPC codes off of both boxes, did the data input, handed me my receipts, and announced that I was free to go. I was prepared to pay the difference- but she directed me to the front door. I wheeled that cart up to the door guard, he glanced at my receipt and I was outta there.
My friend and I couldn't get out of the parking lot fast enough... we thought for sure they'd be coming after us.

So the company I work for is shutting down and thus selling off their assets by way of public auction. However before that happens, us employees get first chance at purchasing the equipment at a HUGE discount. So this is what I ran off w/ (aside from the usual office supplies):
  • 21" Sony GDM-F500R Monitor $350 ($1500 reg price)
    24" Sony GDM-FW900 Monitor $525 ($1800 reg price)
Herman Miller Aeron Chair $155 ($800+ reg price)
6"x8" Professional Wacom Tablet $28 ($300+ reg price)
    Athlon 1.3Ghz TBird PC $245
    20" Sony TV $30
    13" Sony TV $27
Sigh......just had to get that out. There were a lot more stuff like that for sale but just had to pass. Funny thing is, I don't really need most of that stuff but hey....once in a lifetime deals. I just ordered my PNY GeForce 4 ti4400 ($249@newegg) and will soon be playing Counter-Strike @ 1600x1200 w/ 4x anti-aliasing on 24" of flat-screen Trinitron goodness while loungin on my pimp-dog Aeron chair!

I got rejected on my Amex price match for the recent Staples sale on the Visioneer 8100 scanner. I bought the scanner at a B&M store, and mailed them the info price matched at another web site.

They rejection notice says the merchant (Staples) offers a price match, and that makes it not covered by the BVGP by AMEX.

My first time trying to use my Amex blue to price match and I got rejected, bummer.

CDR- TDK Score

This is a repost that I made elsewhere.

Brought an Ad from Buy.com stating TDKs at 10.95 and asked the mgr if he would price match it. He
hesitated and said that the printout that I had was a week oldd but he then said ok after I told him
that I could print it out in a few minutes. I asked him to tell the checkout girls which he did. (I had
more deals to pull at the register and didn't want him interfering).

Brought 3 packs with me and also pickup up 2*8 packs of AA Duracell Batteries for 3.99 each.
I got 110% price guarantee at the register for each TDK. Thus 14.99 - 10.95 + 10% diff.
Thus I got 3 at about 10.50 each and 2 battery packs at about 4.00 each.
Total came to just under $40.00. I gave her a 10 off 40 coupon that I had and she took it and applied it
against my order. I then got the five items for around $32.00 each including tax.
I then took the receipts to the copy center and did whatever copying I needed to do (I could do it at work
on Monday but WTH). I did all my paper work there too and even placed the rebates in envelopes that
I happened to have with me. I could have gotten away without paying for the copies since it was near
closing and the register in the back of the store (near the photocopying machines) was closed. She
asked me to pay up front so I could have just walked out of the store. However I paid them the 40 cents.

Just now I filled out the rebate forms online and will stuff them in the envelopes and will send them off
on Monday. I sent them in three separate envelopes to avoid confusion and get better tracking.

To top all of this all I also did a good deal with CC today on the TDKs too. Two weeks ago I bought the TDKs
from CC for 28.00 less 10 and less 15 for a net of 3.00. I saw them on sale on Target (I think) for 20.00
and got a 8.00 price adjustment. I then went back again today with the Staples ad and got another 5.00
price adjustment for a net of about 14.00. After applying the 25.00 in rebates I will end up making money
on the deal.

Altogether between both deals above I will get them all for nothing and make about 5.00 on the deal.
The coup de grace is that I see that Kmart has the same batteries starting tomorrow for 3.00 each.
I might even go back and get another $2.00 price adjustment from Staples for the price difference.

Now planning my strategy for OD starting tomorrow using a 10 off 40 or a 10 off 50 coupon and combine
with FAR offers.:|:Q

Has anyone been able to get the online version of this week's Best Buy circular to work? I can't get it to work. PM me if yours works or please make a post in Hot Deals if there are any "hot deals" or "free after rebate" stuff. Thanks.

Finally got my 30.00 from Staples today. Outstanding since 12/23/01.

My next oldest rebate is now 10 weeks old.

Also got a 20.00 from Staples today also. Don't know what it was for. I am very good at keeping
records can not reconcile this one. It may be a result of my writing to Staples ... Office of the President
and complaining about three outstanding rebates. I seem to remember one of them being 20.00.
Looks like they may have paid it twice.

I will accept it as partial payment for the time it took me to collect a legitimate debt from them.

I bought a $100 scooter for $1.58.

I was trying out that amazon spring savings from the ToysrUs section. Added one of those small foldable scooters that go for $99. It's 40% off now so it was $47, then I added a $4 toy rhino to go over $50. When i went to apply my code, my promo coupon total was already at $35 from previous coupon attempts, so I was like, "OH, well i'll just try to put more coupons in, it wont hurt to try." Turns out all the coupons worked again! They all stacked up. When I got to $50 worth of coupons I stopped.

Subtotal: $ 51.58
Shipping & handling: $ 15.68
Shipping Savings: - $ 15.68
Promotional Certificates: - $ 50.00
----------
Total before Tax: $ 1.58
Estimated Tax*: $ 0.00
----------
Purchase Total: $ 1.58

Everytime I visit the forums on Anandtech, I get at minimum 3 pop-up ads. Anyone else experiencing this? Have I unknowingly installed a program that causes this Or, is this some sort of new marketing ploy?

Anyone know of a better price for this one?

I'm in the market for an NEC large screen LCD panel, and I stumbled across a Cdn site that is offering them at good prices.

Problem is that I need it shipped to America. Anyone know of somewhere I can go in the US that can get prices around what they offer?
I've emailed these guys and they said it's not a typo.

LCD1850X or XBK: (approx.) $987.25
LCD2010X or XBK: (approx.) $1496.80

Are these good prices?

Thanks,

dm
